Forging a Big Chinese Cleaver | Knifemaking

Long time no see!
After over a year abscence, I decided to upload a new video again. The reason why I've been so quiet is not that I quit knifemaking, I just didn't have the time to record and edit videos. But here I am, showing you the making of my biggest knife yet with a new editing style as well. I tried to shorten the video significantly to only show the most importnt and interesting steps, as well as adding additional informations via subtitles.
Please tell me what you think about this video and where I can improve.
As always - if you've got any questions, ask them! I'm always happy to help out other people as I gained most of my knowledge from KZbin and asking many questions to professionals.

Schön mal wieder was von dir zu sehen. Der Bandschleifer ist ja ein Monster! Macht bestimmt mehr Spaß? Und das mit der Vaseline müsste ich auch mal probieren. Steckst du den Griff hin und wieder mal dran, um die Ausrichtung zu prüfen?

Danke! Der Bandschleifer ist ein absolutes Biest, ich muss mal das Video dass ich über ihn gedreht hab fertig machen 😄 Der vaseline Trick ist super praktisch, ich nutze ihn hauptsächlich damit ich den Griff immer wieder anstecken und die Symmetrie kontrollieren kann. Pro Messer geht der bestimmt 10 mal dran und ab, teilweise lass ich ihn beim schleifen dann auch an der Klinge. Macht es auf jeden Fall einfacher.

Endlich wieder ein Video von dir! :-) Es hat sich ja einiges verändert in deiner Werkstatt. Ich hab's ja schon bei Instagram gesehen und im 63HRC-Podcast gehört, aber schöner, es in bewegten Bildern zu sehen! Tolles Messerchen, rundum äußerst gut gelungen! P.S. Um den Weg vom Härteofen zum Tauchbad zu verkürzen könntest du den Staubsauger nach draußen stellen und versuchen, den Dampf/Rauch abzusaugen? Liebe Grüße, Michael

Danke Michael! Vielleicht sollte ich mal eine Workshop Tour (einen Workshop Schwenk :D) machen. Beim Härten ziehe ich mittlerweile den Ofen bis an die Tür (ist auf Rollen) und stelle hinter mich einen starken Ventilator, der den Rauch nach draußen bläst. Funktioniert soweit ganz gut.

Die gibts zu kaufen, findet man auf eBay unter Sprühkühlung. Ich würde empfehlen die etwas teureren zu nehmen, die ganz billigen sind so schlecht dass sie unverwendbar sind 😅
