Hi Phil, i like that knife very much. Also like the fact that you make stuff without the use of a $100,000 workshop and tools. You use what you have and get on with it, that i like. Its how i do my wood carvings and stuff. Just spoons and small items. I have yet to have a go at making a knife, your way is the route that i would have to go down.So if it ever stops raining here in the UK and warms up a bit i might give this a go sometime. I live about 50 miles from the Scottish boarders in the English lake district.Regards Chris.

I know you made this 4 years ago. I just came back from the Texas Knife Show 11-19-22. That knife you made would sell for 450.00. I’m a knife maker, no KZbin channel, I’m 3 months behind all the time. I seen what you did putting the epoxy in there. I like that knife. I bought a knife from a vendor, paid 140.00 .

Thanks! Always good to hear that the research and background is appreciated. The history behind a blade is part of what I enjoy in knife- making.

Speaking of soaking it in vinegar. Have you tried stone washing your blades?
@PhilBaumhardt6 жыл бұрын
Haven't tried stone washing yet. I don't know what all I'd need for that but one of these days I'll have to try it.

I had good luck with soaking it for eight hours, then throwing it in a coffee can full of rocks and cooking oil then taping it up and the throwing it in the dryer on no heat for an hour.

@@PhilBaumhardt Holy fuck! I used to make knives and tools for my friends and charged them about $40 a piece.

- Doing your friends a favor sounds like a hobbyist, which is fine if you don't mind doing that much work for little pay. I charge more than him but granted, I shine my shit tight as a clenched arsehole.

Kuhtalainen Kullinlutkuttaja Sure, so have I but we don't do it for a living. 40 euros is not enough to live.
