Forging a Viking Sword. The sword was lobbed over the wall. Will it be okay?

How powerful are the swords of the warrior of Vikings?
I tried to forging it with Viking's original Damascus pattern.
It seems to be more advantageous for cutting than a longsword.
Blade length is 78cm and weight is 1.24Kg. It's lighter than a longsword but it's a one-handed sword. So I feel it is a bit heavy.
I missed the sword during the cutting test because of oil on the handle leather.
It was lobbed 20m and fell 3m down into a creek... Will it be okay?

Nice, but actually all famous swords from the Viking era bore the lettering 'Ulfberth' on the blade, which corresponds 1 to 1 to today's "Made in Germany". These Ulfberth swords were so popular that the brand name was even faked on inferior swords. In the Franconian Empire, where these were manufactured in 2 (today German) monasteries, an export ban was imposed on these swords by death penalty. The Vikings usually only got hold of these swords through robbery. By the way, these swords were made of Mono steel, the quality of which was better than the famous Damascus steel. Actually, there were no Viking swords at all, because they were Frankish swords. The smiths of the Vikings weren't able to produce such high-quality swords either!
