I just broke a pair of blade-making tongs that more than paid for themselves. Was looking for a tutorial video on how to make some that are a little different design, and those tongs look awesome. Very generous of you.

Roy, I got busy for a couple of months , so I have not had the chance to follow as of late but, I have your say your videos and their content have improved IMO , they were not bad by any means but, they have gotten more meaty and less filler ,,, keep it up.Pineknot.

Watching you move the metal for the jaws so quickly has me wondering if you are just that much stronger than me or if you are working with a softer allow or at a much hotter temperature. Is that A36? How accurate is the color reproduction on your new camera?

You must be very good, you make it look easy. I have been following your lead but it takes me a lot longer. But that is partly because drawing 1" x 3/8'" into 3/8 X 3/8 reins with hand hammer is not very practical. Thanks fr the video. PS . closed captions would be nice. they keep swiping the headphones here.

hey roy i made a pair of tongs yesterday and they are really messy they scewed sideways at the jaw and didnt end up very nice at all i think gas really makes life difficult to forge as the heat is too long please give thoughts
@ChristCenteredIronworks6 жыл бұрын
Hey Grayem if you would like to send me some pics through my Gmail of it I might be able to give you a better thought. Most of the trouble that I see a lot of people having with their tongs is not getting it hot enough when manipulating that much material at once. This poses the problem of getting your Dimensions set as the material resist too much on your hammering. Another issue could be too many Heats to get the work done as every time it's scales up you are losing mass of material in every Heat. Which will eventually lead to a failure at some point. God bless you I really hope this helps let me know

I will continue to say it...."they are not crooked, they Are ERGONOMIC" ;). Every failure at making perfection, is a tool for learning, as long as you don't give up trying
