Anguirel - Iron of the fiery star
The spear takes after the lore from the Silmarillion which involves two swords that are forged by the Dark Elf named Eol, out of meteorite steel. In this case, I adapted the name and lore into a spear.
This build is the first part of my "heavens" collection. Which features mytho-poetic weapons from La Tene, Viking, Anglo-Saxon, Turkish and Tolkien mythos. The collection features ancient and rare materials such as Meteorite Damascus that I forge with my friend and exotic materials like mammoth ivory.
My friend Woodlands Forge is an extremely talented bladesmith that works with various types of steels. He encapsulates natural elements within his work and I find myself look at some wild scene from nature everytime I pick one of his blades up. This is why I had to have him work on this project with me. I help him through the process and learn a great deal about blacksmithing .
I am normally a bowyer, so I did this as a trade build where I built him an old growth Yew bow and some other things in exchange for his guidance in completing this project.

Great piece this! I love seeing the steel taking shape under the hammer strikes. There's a beauty and artistry in the process. The steel seems almost alive. I don't know if it's a feeling that all of us who create with steel have but I certainly do. And I enjoy seeing the work others do, a real satisfactory feeling to watch and see.

What's the tonnage on the press your using to forge weld? Having a screw press that actuates horizontally with a vertical handle - doesn't seem like the best way to get leverage on it for downward pressure? Maybe I'm wrong, idk, it IS a pretty big screw. Curious how much pressure that thing puts down with each action
@inviciforge

Im fairly certain it's 6 tonnes

That's borax, a flux agent. It stops the metal from oxidising when welding.

And why not adapt the Pedal on the Machine as on a Singer sewing machine, so that it would not be with the right or left hand to change the metal, but to step on the pedal with your foot and the press would go down by releasing the pedal, the press would go up by itself -------------------------------------------------------------- ================================================================================ А по чему бы не приспособить на Станке Педаль как на Швейной машинке Зингер что бы не рукой правой или левой Сменать метал а наступать на педаль ногой и пресс сам бы опускался приотпуская педаль пресс сам бы подымалься🏔⛰🌠🌌BEAUTY
