"Why do these axes cost so much?" Well, this is why. I watched one of his videos and had no idea he was as young as he is. This young man's future is bright, very bright. Nice work Jonah, and thanks for bringing us along Gordy.

Oh man I had never thought about a wedge banger with a thinner poll to get to a wedge thats buried deep! This young man does great work. There's a reason why axes made like they used to be are expensive. I only make handles and lumber for them and I have a great appreciation for the entire process.

Ok. That's a sexy axe. I really wish I had taken my tree work life longer. I would have been able to hang with these guys. Great video brother. Gordy. I really love watching you. S7 tool steel. Really great hardening and sharpening ability steel. That's top notch. As long as the heat treat is good with no cracks or deformation that's a head that will last for years. Not like a 1095 that's almost indestructible when treated. Becomes brittle in large billets

Thanks Gordy! Recently watched Jeff Schroeder’s axe collection videos, please do one or a couple as well! Been trying to haft some axe, splitter and hammer handles and curious about the types of wood to use for the wedges, soft or hard wood for the different uses but in Australia so the varieties are different but any advice to listen & learn from would be great. Thank you again 🤙

Axe content and shop stuff is interesting content to me. How to do stuff and how stuff is made information. If you just want to watch screaming chainsaws and falling trees there are plenty of channels for that. Learning something in an enjoyable video is what I like. Since you put my initials on that axe I'll send you my shipping address. And a pre-paid shipping label for going to all that trouble you went to for me - LOL.

I’ve seen a bunch of axes being made the last decade or so, but that’s pretty much the first one that is useful! You can split wood with just about anything but the last good new rafter I’ve seen for sale was the three 5lb GB STROAX’s I bought about 45 years ago. Two are lost in the Sierras somewhere but luckily I still have one left! Awesome! 👍🏼👍🏼

Hey Gordy on a raker gauge if using full house you put it up to the back of the tooth in front of the raker ur checking?? Or is that wrong? And what about skip tooth chain? No one ever shows skip jw if that’s rite/wrong? Or do you just set the raker in the slit, n it doesn’t matter where the raker gauge lands ??And will the bark box bolt on a 372xp?
@westcoastsaw1368
