A Experiment on forge welding a 2-piece socketed (also forge welded) Viking style Arrowhead.
I am sure there are other ways of making these, but I simply had to try this method.

Very happy to see that you are using square bars. Thats far moore historik true. Rounded bar was not standard in any way. Until the end of 17 cent. If you needed round bar fore a job, you made it fore that specific job. Square or rectangular bars is Correct. I have been working with the issue fore over 40 years. Early ironmaking and irontrading. Thank you.

You love playing with hot metal. Making spear like this clearly shows that. Well made out of box thinking. Great music too.👍👍👍👍

Forge welding skills are impressive. Your forge must be dialed in to perform such delicate welds like that. However, I don’t think that was the true process for making arrowheads. Making an arrowhead would have taken them minutes instead of what probably took you at least an hour. I could be wrong but to provide an army of invading blood thirsty slime with enough arrowheads you’d need either an army of blacksmiths to make them the way you did or come up with a faster simpler way.

Well, he probably hasn't made hundreds of arrows, yet. with skill, you could do it with only a few heats. I can make an arrow in around 5 minutes at my best.

I like the way you skip all the grinding work to focus on the forging process and nothing else. Minimalist, efficient, I like it ! Thank you

You should, I use either 5/16 or 3/8 round. But square rods also work, and if you don’t have it, buy a cross-peen hammer

Sorry for commenting on a older video but what do you make a type 15 swallowtail head like this as well I was trying to figure out how they made it and the only thing I come up with is making the socket and then forge welding the blade on

I have tried the same way with type 16s, but the cone ends up scaling away after several welding heats.

Excellent job. Never mind the haters, you do your thing. I am just starting my journey as a Smith and I find this to be an excellent video. To the person who said that this took too long, yes they would have had an army of smiths to supply the fighting forces with weapons. Despite what you see in the movies, smithing takes time and patience to get it right.

'haters'. I commend him for doing this. But he is rather tickling it and will hear about it when he chooses to post a video at that stage. That army of smiths would each use a tenth the number of strikes per arrowhead. We'd do him a disservice by mollycoddling him, especially if he goes to market.
