The movie Otto with Tom Hanks comes to mind. This hardness that is created as a shield when life hurts you in such a deep and cutting way. Resistance to love and joy in the present moment because you can’t fix what happened in your past. It feels like you are searching for that missing piece you lost back there, and everyone else has it. “Inviting past to perpetually wound me. Nothing missing in the here and now.” 🙏🏻❤
