Easiest way: 1) Sign out of your apple id on your device. 2) Turn off screen time.(It don't require passcode) 3) Sign in your apple id. Screen time will be off.

@@charliekingston9446 So i had previously sold the phone to a friend of mine, and he returned it and then it had screen time. I figured out that i could log out of his icloud account and into mine, and after i logged into mine, i turned the screen time off and reset the phone again.

@Arsh Sharma After you log out and log into another account, you still have to wait the hour, but after that hour, you should be able to reset the password and reset the phone if you need to

Ipad pro. Once i changed screentime passcode thru forgot > apple id, but the new passcode never worked. How can that be? Then i tried turning passcode off or changing to no success at all. After inputting apple id, number of attempts just increased by 1. Apple support recommended reset and recover to backup. Finally I fixed the issue - I downloaded iPhone Backup Extractor. It cost $40 for a year membership but I was able to reset screen time. I had to reset it twice but it's finally back to normal. Money well-spent.

For those who may not see a “forgot password” option, this is most likely due to you signing out of your Apple Account before turning off Screen Time. In order to turn off or reset Screen Time you need to be signed into your Apple iCloud account on your phone.
