Don’t lock the steering on a flat tow. Never had to do it before, so lesson learned! All I could think was these giant tires locking to one side and throwing me off the road. Safety third people!

@@SomeBigFatGuy Only you lose the timeless old soul of this truck when you engine swap them. Obviously they're plenty fun just the way they are, and i can testify to that, I have a bone stock '56 Chevy truck myself. 6 cylinder and a 4 on the floor and i have several classics, even modern engine swapped ones, and none are as fun as that truck.

I'm not surprised it fired right up and idled like a champ. Those old Mopar flatheads were extremely well-engineered and are as reliable as the sun rising every morning. Mopar flatheads were used for all kinds of applications where a highly reliable engine was needed like in military applications, agriculture and even in airport machinery. They're so reliable and durable that some are still in use today, all these years later. In fact, some rural parts stores still carry parts for these engines because they are still used for pumping water out of fields and for irrigation, etc. The fact that some parts stores still carry parts for them is a testament to their reliability and durability, and just how well-engineered they are. Treat one right and they'll outlast you.

The luckiest thing that happened on the tow home was the dodge you are driving didn’t drop a valve seat and leave you and the old dodge on the side of the road.

That last time you jumped the solenoid, I was thinking, "I wonder if he left it in gear..." And when she took off on you, I thought, "Yep, guess he did." I laughed out loud. 😂😂 Glad she was in low gear. This brings back memories for me. My dad had a 1951 Dodge 1.5 ton similar to this. He sold it when I was 8 years old and I'd just about give anything to get it back. Lost track of it after 2005.

This is now my new favorite Dylan McCool video. Reminds me a lot of my late father's old 49 GMC truck he used as a daily driver for awhile when I was a kid. Even my mom drove it on occasion.
