Sun's Out, Top's Off
Chevrolet was no stranger to the SUV world, having produced the Carryall/Suburban-a large, truck-based wagon-since the mid-1930s. Although offered with four-wheel drive, the Suburban didn't have the same "Let's go exploring" image that Ford's and Jeep's smaller fare did, and the Suburban consequently spoke to a different demographic.
In 1969, however, Chevrolet went all-out with the K5 Blazer to one-up its rivals in a bid to capture more youthful buyers. By basing the K5 on the existing short-box K10 pickup, Chevy offered two important advantages. First, the cabin offered acres of cargo space and interior room, made possible by its plus-size proportions. Second, the wider track and longer wheelbase smoothed its on-pavement ride.

I immediately subscribed to your channel because that is one straight K5. I have never owned a K5, much less, restored one! I can do that through you and your channel. Even though I'm 61, I guess it's never too late!! Very inspiring. Great job and keep it between the mustard and the mayo.

That's a proper 100% Paint Job. Strip it down and have the new paint under all the weather seals. That tailgate looks to be in very good shape. A fine quality Blazer. Refreshing NOT to have a some blaring so called music in the video which is so annoying. Great Job Bro!!!

Lars, you have a great diverse skill set, kudos. This truck is a beauty, love how you are keeping it original down to the 4X4 wheel caps. This was the first year for TBI on squares that ran from 1973-1991. I love them all especially the '77's with the one year yellow trim and the plaid interior. Looking forward to seeing the finished product. Is this going to be for sale? Peace.
