Same. I'm 28 but I already feel like I can't live without such melodies... The reason resides in the fact that somehow they make me feel connected to my true self and my true nature (and this reveals itself more and more urgent as time goes on and I'm aware of the "plastic" reality we're unfortunately living in each passing day)

I'm listening with noise cancelling headphones, bass turned way up, in the total darkness of night. I feel like this is what the deepest, farthest, oldest regions of our Cosmos would sound like if humans had ears to detect it. The Primordial melody that wove Creation into being, that lovingly greeted us at our beginning, and will gently beckon us to return at our end. Such an unfamiliar sense of peace this is.

Diffused sunlight poured through the tiny breach the archaeological team had created in the arched ceiling of the forgotten temple. How long had its marble walls, floors and statuary remained undetected beneath the hustle and bustle of the living world above. As the first of the scientists descended on ropes into this strange new world, the light of their headlamps caught the features of a sculpted face on the wall, the Platonic visage set against a backdrop of cracked stone and the dust of centuries. Who was this strange figure and why had he been venerated by so many, so long ago?

When I hear this I get mixed vibes of the movie Prometheus when they search the ancient alien tomb of the creators and an opening scene of Indiana Jones in the jungle where he's looking for the golden idol. Essentially, as you said, the discovery of ancient, buried gods or civilizations that should have stayed like that(I'm sorry idk what my mind is 😅)

We are taught that there is one path to success, through academic indoctrination. But what many fail to see is that this universe exists in a constant, a linear projection. All one needs to realise is that the past is but a memory, the future is ones subconscious projecting such memories forward. All that truly matters, is the present moment, for it is but the one time that you hold true dominion, this reinforces the idea that all that matters in life, is yourself. By casting the opinions of the uneducated to the wind one can find true enlightenment, for they have not the slightest idea how many sleepless nights, tear stained pillows, dark thoughts and unparalelled torment ones mind can withstand. This life is yours, not anyone else's, carpe diem, opportunity is but a fleeting thing, will you let it pass? Has your mind grown so complacent? Make your own way, take a risk, for until death do us part, you have but one chance to live.

OMAR KHAYYAM "The Rubaiyat" III And, as the Cock crew, those who stood before The Tavern shouted-- "Open then the door! You know how little while we have to stay, And, once departed, may return no more." VIII Come, fill the cup, and in the fire of Spring Your Winter garment of repentance fling: The bird of time has but a little way To flutter- and the bird is on the wing. XIII Some for the glories of this world; and some Sigh for the Prophet's Paradise to come; Ah, take the cash, and let the credit go, Nor heed the rumble of a distant drum! XVII Think, in this batter'd Caravanserai Whose portals are alternate night and day, How Sultán with his pomp Abode his destin'd hour, and went his way. XXXIII Earth could not answer; nor the Seas that mourn In flowing purple, of their Lord forlorn; Nor rolling heaven, with all his Signs reveal'd And hidden by the sleeve of night and morn.

T.E. Lawrence, eponymously of Arabia, but very much an Englishman, favored pinching a burning match between his fingers to put it out. When asked by his colleague, William Potter, to reveal his trick -- how is it he so effectively extinguished the flame without hurting himself whatsoever -- Lawrence just smiled and said, "The trick, Potter, is not minding it hurts." The fire that danced at the end of that match was a gift from the Titan, Prometheus, a gift that he stole from the gods, who were terrified of what we might do with it were it to fall into our hairy little paws. When Prometheus was caught and brought to justice for his theft, the gods, well, you might say they overreacted a little. The poor man was tied to a rock as an eagle ripped through his belly and ate his liver over and over, day after day, ad infinitum. All because he gave us fire, our first true piece of technology. Fire. Such a very long time ago. Which begs the question: What have we done with? 100,000, BC: Stone tools. 4,000, BC: The wheel. 800, BC: Sundial. 9th century, AD: Gunpowder. Bit of a game-changer, that one. 1441: The printing press -- only slightly less impactful. 19th century: Steam engine. Railway. Eureka! The light bulb!! 20th century: The automobile, television, nuclear weapons, spacecrafts, Internet. 21st century: Biotech, nanotech, fusion and fission, and M-theory -- and that was just the first decade. We are now three months into the year of our Lord, 2023. At this moment in our civilization, we are on the verge of terraforming planets undiscovered just a decade ago. We have identified the genetic chain of events behind 98% of cancers -- a chain we have broken, effectively curing them. We can create cybernetic individuals who, in just a few short years, will be completely indistinguishable from us. Which leads to an obvious conclusion: We are the gods now. I haven't been struck down. I take that to mean I'm right. We wield incredible power -- the power to transform, to destroy and to create again. The question, of course, before us is, "What the hell are we supposed to do with this power?" Or, more importantly, one should ask, "What are we allowed to do with this power? The answer to that, my friends, is nothing. Rules, restrictions, laws, ethical guidelines -- all but forbidding us from moving forwards. Well, where were the ethics during the Arabian conflicts? Why are rules preventing us from feeding impoverished cultures? How is there a law which states, "If we build a man from wires and metal -- a man who will never grow old, a man who will never feel the heat of a star or the cold of the moon -- how is the creation of such an incredible individual considered unnatural?" The answer to all these questions is simple: These rules exist because the people who created them were afraid of what would happen if they didn't. Well I am not afraid! For those of you who know me, you will be aware by now that my ambition is unlimited. You know that I will settle for nothing short of greatness, or I will die trying. For those of you who do not yet know me, allow me to introduce myself: My name is Peter Weyland. And if you’ll indulge me, I’d like to change the world. What is it about mortality that frightens us so much? For me it is simply because like many I do not know what comes next. But what of a god? Is there a true death for a god? In a sense the only way one can truly die is to be forgotten, for what is a god if no one is there to remember them?

This gives me occult vibes. I would imagine this atmosphere in the world created in the TV series Raised by Wolves on HBO.

Low bass drone, low earthquake drone, vocal VST, hold for 1 hour..... done. Could have had at least some chord change in an hour? no?

No. I like it exactly the way it is.

@@78brd It isn't necessarily AI music. It might be BUT you can make an hour long ambient track in 5 minutes. With MIDI, you can literally just insert a few notes and stretch them to be 30 min long or 45 and have a couple of tracks where they move SOME and then render that out offline at like 10X realtime and in 6 minutes, you have the audio rendered out. As long as you don't try to write ACTUAL music where there is some kind of chord and melody going on. I've been doing audio since the 1960s and music as well since the late 60s and audio recording/mixing/etc. I am sure AI can produce something very quickly. Not sure how great it will sound but these atonal ambient things can also be done quite quickly. I am not too interested in doing any because I would just feel like there is no reason to. If I had some reason like... oh, a video game needed ambient stuff for various things or a movie (ie, some GOAL), then I might. I have heard other ambient stuff that did have chords but they were usually very simple like Am to Dm over and over and over with some violin and piano in it. But I can see people liking this stuff just to have some sounds going while they study or chill etc. It's all good.
