Forgotten Friends Friday! - Layering Lace!

I finally fell asleep! So l didn’t finish the video till now. Oh, Gayle your God Wink is amazing. I cried too. I wondered about Jimmy Joe and what a blessing to hear his story and all the connections. ❤ l still go back and watch that puppy video. I’m crazy about animals. During my grieving journey, I took on my grandkids 3 old dogs and 2 cats. My X son- in-law passed just after Ron. Crazy times. So no place for them to go but l have a lot of acreage. I took these old pets on and cried like a baby when l found out the in laws had them up for adoption. We’re talking 14 year old pets. The wonderful thing is they got me out of bed everyday and the love they give me is amazing. Plus they watch over my 10 chickens. It’s a zoo but l love it! Leo is my golden doodle and my old cat Speckles is one of the adopted cats baby. Yep, a zoo. Her mom passed last year but was very happy in her new home. They love seeing my grandsons and they love being able to visit them. I so get the journey of pets in our lives. We help them and they help us. Such a lovely God Wink ❤I should say Leo and l take care of them. Since he goes everywhere l go. We’re quite the site. My Jeep, Leo and the old white haired lady. 😂 It does my heart good to hear your story and know the kindred spirit🙏

Such pretty creations with the lace. Using lace as an under layer is one of my favorite things to do. My 4 year old grand daughter stopped by for a surprise visit this evening. She got in the chair next to me to watch along. “Grandma you like this lady don’t you?” 🤣 Yes sweetie I do! Have a blessed day

Love the pockets - they are all beautiful! It was nice to include the lace in the layering - added a totally different dimension to the paper layers. I was thinking tea dyed cheese cloth might make a nice layer when looking for a more grungy look.

Good morning Gayle! These pockets were really cute. Love the idea of the checks and receipts for pockets, they worked well. I realized the other day it's been a long time since I actually played. Keeping the store stocked is a full time job, so I am taking a couple of weeks off. I might actually have time to make a journal. I love that you played with lace today. All the pockets turned out really pretty. I’m thinking maybe you are at your grandkids games this weekend. Hope they do well. They all seem to be really good at sports. I never was good at playing sports. And as a result the kids made fun of me. So I admire those kids that do well at it. My boys were good at sports and Kerri did drill team all three years of high school. And of course Jeff was real good at track and football. So little old me that can’t hit a baseball or volley a ball back over a net is surrounded by those that can. So enough of my story. Just tell your granddaughters that I am proud of them doing so well in volleyball and basketball.

Just love these 😊. I have my fabric tac in a sugar belle dispenser but it is so thick and hurts to squeeze. Either my glue is thicker or the whole in my tip is smaller 🤔. Thanks for sharing ❤

How is your thumb lately? I noticed you still distress up in the air holding the paper with your left thumb. Did you give up trying to distress by laying the paper flat? At least you don't need to wear the brace anymore.

It’s been pretty good, thanks Rachelle! I still wear compression gloves when slow stitching. But I’m okay distressing. Sometimes Distress flat if the pieces has little things that stick out. 😂. ❤
