Even though it's more of a transitional era between the hulkamania and attitude eras, I have always loved the new generation era. Watching all these guys come up in the business during this era is was awesome. I really liked the hunter Hearst Helmsley gimmick. Owen Hart was awesome to and I was so sad when he passed.

Not to be "that guy" but Triple H getting squashed by Warrior wasn't a punishment for the curtain call as it happened a few months before. It was just Warrior not wanting to do a longer match with someone he saw as lower than him.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard Scott Hall say he left WWF over creative frustrations. The only reason I’ve heard from him is that WCW was offering way more money for less dates, and Vince wouldn’t allow him to take some time to go to Japan and make some cash on the side in WWF. From what Hall said in shoots, he was happy and secure in being the gatekeeper to the main event.

It's sad that Blueblood guy Hearnst Hunter Helmsley disappeared after 1996. The guy was quite cerebral in his game and could have easily started a reign of terror of his own, if he would have stayed within the authority. It's shame the degenerate writers let him go and didn't gave him a chance to go through an evolution.

As much as I appreciate these videos there are two big botches here: Steve Austin won KOTR in 1996, not in 1997. And for Triple H, the Wrestlemania 12 squash was 100000% not the punishment for the Curtain Call which happened two months after Wrestlemania (unless Vince mcMahon was a visionary). Otherwise, keep up good work, thanks!

He gets a lot of (not...entirely undeserved) heat today, but I will till my dying day be a X-Pac mark. His initial run as the giant killer, the "little guy" who not only stood toe to toe with but could indeed topple the bigger boys with fast moves and technical skill, was quite a breath of fresh air in the transition era. And his match with Bret Hart will always be one of my favorites. He may never have been quite a main event guy (even I'll admit his mic skills aren't great and seems to be at his best when part of a team or stable), but he did have a lot of in ring talent and I'd argue paved the way for the likes of Edge, the Hardy Boyz, and Chris Jericho in the WWE.
