I got back into pokemon go summer 2020, started getting really into pvp like half a year later or something so i'd say i've been actively playing gbl for about 3 years, when I started playing ultra premier (no xl) was by far my favourite league, now I almost exclusively play great league

XLs was a system for profit disguised as an update for longevity. You can complain cause you spent the money and time.

that only applies to legendaries. XLs for non-legendaries are hard to get but there are multiple methods to get them that require relatively less time and no money

@@301nav I feel like it's cope due to the fact that you're okay with paying for something like power that's obfuscated by the fact that "The XLs can be earn for free." It's really hard to get xls without the paid option that is made to obviously frustrate people to pay for time skipping methods that don't have to be there.

Yeah, people always complain about the same teams being played over and over but if I can only build one team I'm not gonna build garbage and get destroyed. Everything is way too expensive and XL candies take way too long to farm it's not wonder we see the same shit all the time.

I’ve been playing pogo on and off since 2021. I got into PvP around halfway through last season. I was able to hit ace and ended last season at 2100 elo. This season, I hit veteran and I’m currently sitting at 2550 elo! My favorite PvP Pokémon so far is shadow gligar because it is so versatile and you can use it to adapt to any game plan. What are some Pokémon I should build? I have quite a few meta Pokémon so far, but are there any really necessary ones to have?

The first time I remember playing GBL was before XL candies were out. There was some sort of event where winning battles got you an encounter with Marill, and the potential shiny at that.

Played GBL when it first came out, my OG team had marshtomp, toxicroak, and steelix. Back when marshtomp was actually used in tournament plays over swampert (no hydro canon) and it got me my longest win steak of 20. Most fun times

This team looks like fun. Love the triple shadow spice. Ive been running pidgeot, a. Raticate and crawdaunt. I combat high def and hp xl mons with ridiculous attack closers lol. No stats save them from things with an attack as high as crawdaunt lol. Same with the ultra league. I do wish people would change up running the same boring 6 mons. People just care about running the bulkieat mons in existence

I have played since GBL was released but really got into PvP during COVID when legendaries were the only encounters - it was a great way to grind legend shinies by yourself (although it did require the sock method for the 2km required to play xD) Ive hit top rank/legend pretty much every season since I used to just copy whatever would destroy me so my first legend team was haunter, registeel, wiggly I have heard stories from PvP players before GBL when probopass was the meta pick which seems like ancient history now
