Forgotten Playstation 2 Games! These definately aren't gonna be getting a PS4 or Nintendo Switch port anytime soon. No matter how cute the anime or dope the Samurais, these PS2 games have become forgotten and will be dearly missed. Well most of em.

jamalocaust I would recommend watching SuperButterBuns and her “for beginners” for the different persona games. The general consensus I see is 4 golden or 5 though.

I remember seeing all these games on x-play, wonderful nostalgia. The ps2 era was the bright burning star of the japanese game dev industry, before the hd era brought them to their knees. They made such a wide and creative berth of games and it really felt like anything was possible in games. The ps2 is the best console of all time.

Skygunner looks like a 3d Twinbee game. Im surprised they never went to 3d, that series has a lot of charm; from colourful cloud bells for powerups, bouncy animations, sunny music and wierd enemies. There was a reason it topped the snes game charts.

I remember I always liked using the super strong dragons that were linked to you by life force, so when they took damage you took damage. Looking back it really wasn’t the best card, but the idea of me being linked to a dragon was the most awesome thing ever to 13 year old me.

So when I first used it, I was like wtf and walked into her thinking I could push her toward an enemy, but the doppelganger apparently kills the first thing she touches, which includes you, so I died lol

Urban Chaos : Riot Response is such an awesome game, it's a first person shooter with real life cutscenes and awesome slow-mo cutscenes when you land a headshot on an enemy, it has many weapons to use, upgrades and stuff, i love it! It has it's few flaws but it's so much fun to play! Give it a try. Also, just look up the box art... It's badass. Also sorry for my bad english 😅

@@jilly9437 Haha yes he is. I had to google how to defeat him when I replayed the game a couple months ago. The really annoying part is that you can't save after defeating Taira Kiyomori so you cant really trial and error your way to defeat Kagekiyo(final boss). You have to defeat both of them in one sitting and be effective enough against Kiyomori so you have buffs and potions leftovers for Kagekiyo. its really frustrating but feels good and rewarding when you finally beat the game.

I really wish you would have talked about the Xenosaga trilogy. Man those games are so underrated. I totally agree with the inclusion of the 2004 Transformers game. It's a great licensed game and easily has some of the best graphics I've ever seen on the PlayStation 2. Even though the resolution and frame-rate are absolute crap... no seriously, the developers even tried to make up for the horrible frame rate using some sort of over the top motion blur.

I remember that Transformers game. My cousin bought a PS2 and I believe he rented that game. I only saw like 5 minutes of it but I thought it looked awesome. The Transformers PS2 game had a twist that caught me super off guard. There's the level where you start on that island with the aircraft carrier nearby. When I saw it I was immediately like "Oh crap it's Tidal Wave". Then you go inside the carrier, fighting the Decepticon clones and stuff and I was all "Oh I guess it's just an aircraft carrier, Tidal Wave wouldn't let you go inside him" Then you get to the end of the stage and he starts transforming and it's just the biggest oh shit moment followed by a boss fight that I remember being a pretty spicy difficulty spike.

Technically way of the samurai got two spiritual successors one on PS3 and the other on Vita, but they were never given English releases, but a lot of the combat and branching stuff is present in both.

Oh muh Gawd you actually mentioned kessen in the intro. I expected beatifull gems like Genji but not kessen:D A tad bit dissapointed that it didnt get any more mention during the video as it is totally forgotten. I love those games, especially Kessen 1 and 3. The first one deserves a reboot. There is so much more that could be done with that formula and much more depth and content to be added. Also the story and setting is just so damn interesting and kessen did a tremendous job of making it come to life with its at the time good cinematics and the amazing soundtrack.

My favorite forgotten game is Kya: Dark Lineage for the PS2. It's a pretty fun action platformer/beat em up that got no love when it was released, and it ended on a cliffhanger that's never going to be resolved. I think it's worth checking out. It's not an amazing or innovative game but I remember it being solid and fun.

I have some nostalgia for Sky Gunner as well. While I never actually played it, it was the first thing I saw when I stumbled upon G4's 'Cinematech'. Like you Austin, the opening really stuck with me and it introduced me to a (at the time) great tv channel for gaming.

Transformers for Playstation 2 was awesome. Never watched much of the cartoon, but the game was so much fun. It was the piece of media that introduced me to the terribly awesome Transformers PSA's. Thanks for covering it. I haven't thought about that game in a long time, but seeing it again made me internally squee.

Hell yeah Cygirls! That one game I kept playing the demo over and over and over again, finally got my hands on the game a few month ago. Hey Austin, you should check out Eve Of Extinction (E.O.E.) also on PS2. It's a futuristic game where you use different types of lightsabers, it's pretty cool! Really hope you'll make a second video on forgotten PS2 games.
