Drizzt deserves a movie trilogy so badly. If they made a trilogy just out of the first three books, they could easily make a lord of the rings kind of success with a good director. Today we have all the technology and CGI we need to make an underdark world of Drizzt come true. And with such a huge fanbase, I can't imagine they wouldn't find enough investors to pull this off. MAKE THIS HAPPEN SALVATORE. You can do this, YOU KNOW YOU CAN! Make Drizzt a new Legolas. He's EASILY up to the task!

I've been reading the Drizzt books since I picked up The Crystal Shard in 1988. I was 14 when it came out. I'm 47 now and haven't missed a single book as they've come out. No other author or series has been as big a part of my life as Bob Salvatore and his Drizzt Saga. Now that Relentless is out, I'm hoping the story isn't really over. Fingers crossed that we'll see our favorite characters return some day.

I was born in 1989. My dad picked up and started the series while he was deployed in the 80s. When I was 10, he passed the collection to that point down to me and I’ve followed ever since. Truly life-changing.

The Sellsword trilogy features Jarlaxle and Artemis Entreri. Required reading IMO. Read them soon before you move on to the next Drizzt Trilogy. It all matters for the later novels. The whole "Transitions" phase. Then move on to the next Drizzt Trilogy. That way you're all caught up on the main players and happenings.

TY for all of books :D. With the progression quality of CGI, I simply can't understand why there is Live Action Drizzt Movie or Movie Trilogy. I realize that it would be incredibly difficult to decide what book(s)to do. With 4 generations of fans out there, we are talking about movie(s) that can't fail! It seems like it's pronounced Dri-tzz-t. So it pronounces a T before and after the Z. It's just a bit cumbersome to say in a sentence so sometimes a sound will be dropped slightly as it slurs into the next word.

I love the idea of live action Drizzt movies or a series. But for me I think with the landscapes, spell effects and character size differences alone, a high quality fully cgi format or animation would be best. To do Drizzt and the forgotten realms justice you would need a ludicrous budget. Even with hasbro/wotc having success with D&D 5e it wouldn't be anywhere near enough. They stopped all novels becuase they didn't make their money back. It seems clear with that fact that dumping enormous amounts of money into live action (which has never been a win for any D&D based project to date) is too risky. I think quality cgi or animation with the right art direction and a solid voice cast would be leagues better, cost a fraction of live action and be the best chance at experiencing the Drizzt story past text or audio books.

So the author pronounces the name "Drits". Like he would know! Well I'm sticking with my own pronunciation. Drizzt, just like it's spelled. Drizzzzzz with a T on the end. A little difficult to say but then he is a dark elf from an underground world. Anything from his world should be a little difficult for a surface human to pronounce. I say no Drits and no Drizit either. Drizzt! Like the sound of the stroke of a whetstone along the edge of those blades. Now about pronouncing that other name - Lolth. Sounds like vomiting in my mouth. An apt name for the Spider Queen.
