Douglas XB-42 was developed into XB-43 a jet propelled version that lost to the more conventional North American B-45, shortly to be replaced by the Boeing B-47, Douglas Martin's death was the inspiration to his partner, Baker, to perfect the ejection seat and reorient the company to build them and a long line of Martin-Baker ejection seats which have save hundreds of lives.

The Grumman XF5F was later fully developed into the F7F Tigercat, a classic twin engine fighter The Polikarpov I-185 wad further refined into the I-200 but lost to the Lavochkin La-5 when two of his employees, Mikoyan and Gurevich, created a new design bureau.

Same thing with Do-335 Amisenbar or ant bear (ant eater). Its not "dew 335", its could be deh oh, but its not.

"Hee 100" ????!! No, is a Heinkel 100, the loser in the 1935 fighter fly off with the Bf-109. A few were sold to Romania; Germans do not pronounce "He" as "hee", they would say it as "heh" if they tried but they don't, they would say "hach ah" which translates to "H" "E"
