We were crewing barges last year for the Hinkley point contract and we were told all our skin apart from our face needed to be covered so full PPE… one day it was so hot the deck plating melted my water bottle and we had to be fully clothed… absolutely ridiculous now and it’s gone too far, just let blokes bloody get on with the work!

Was on a job raking and tiding dirt for grass seed to go down around a Hardcore temporary car park. I had to read and sign the risk assessment which was mental. Health and Safety boss come along wearing a hard hat, steel toe boots and safety glasses. Walking one the other track was a woman smoking holing a coffee and on her phone. Comedy Gold.

Good rant I had diesel delivery few years back jumped out of truck twisted ankle was broke actually he sued me got 30000 grand but lost his oil business when I finished told all his customers what happened that sorted him 😂😂😂😂

That’s why it has to say ‘hot’ on takeaway coffee cups etc, because someone claimed for burning themselves and prior to that it didn’t have a warning. Also I read a story someone (in America) sued a motor company because they put cruise control on in there camper van and then got out the seat to make tea - and crashed! They won the case because it didn’t explicitly say in the handbook not to do it 😮

i remember i work for a company mowing and strimming and hedge cutting. after 2years they sent on a course to learn how to use a mower strimmer and hedge cutter. lol. it was a insurance job to cover themselves. keep the great videos coming buddy.

I had something very similar but with a tractor and hedge cutter after about 10 years of using one was told I needed to go on a course. I turned up and just before the “lesson” started i was asked by the teacher to run him through how it works so the can tell the rest of the class. Needless to say i had totally forgot silly me.

That's one thing I've always noticed about the UK is all the health and safety. The yellow vests, rules and regulations. It's like common sense is rare over there, people will just walk in front of a truck if they don't wear a vest. I wore a vest for 5 mins in a front end Loader, all I could see was florescent yellow reflection in the windows 😂 That vest turned into a grease rag 😂

Yep health and safety has gone nuts here, I drive a truck delivering sand, stone etc to construction sites and if I forget to put my yellow flashing lights on oh its a major incident, the health and safety pen pushers will threaten to ban me from site, my argument is if you are stupid enough to walk into the path of a 32 ton truck or cant see it coming then a couple little flashing lights ain't gonna help you!

Chris that Puma has a FPT motor (fiat powertrain) Case Ih and New holland are the same machines just the paint and cabs are laid out different. the engine is an Iveco lump and is made in the same place as the iveco truck cursor lumps

Like other comments, theres a lot of money to be made out of it and if you don't comply as a business your'e liable when it all hits the fan. Paid over £2k for our H&S manual at work. Bloke was only there an hour to get the details. If someone dies at ours, I face a 6 figure fine and prison. Corporate manslaughter. FFS!

Chris, I like your channel, I have an idea for a “portable vice”. If you use the stand for a small cement mixer and put a two piece centre “leg” with a plate on both sides/ ends, one to give extra support on the ground and one to hold the vice. The whole support could be easily taken apart and stores easily in the struggle bus. JJ Ballincollig Cork Ireland.

We used to launch some boats at a marina in Nottingham but then we had to have a risk assessment jump through hoops even though we have been boats building and launching boats for 40 years. So in the end the marina decided it was to much trouble and stopped anyone launching a boat. Probably some 35year old telling you that your not doing it right when you were doing it before they were born.

In our company if when loading or uploading trailers something drops of a pallet and lays in the middle of the trailer bed the drivers not allowed on bed nor is the FLT driver. I have seen a trailer stand in bay all day until management have gone home.

I worked in the nuclear industry for 18 years now that's health and safety gone mad, stopped us reversing forklifts, can't carry a load that's wider than your fork lift, I could go on for days with ridiculous health and safety brought in by people who never worked in their life.
