I was living in Salt Lake when these dudes were just starting out. They had a different drummer in the beginning who was better than good, but he split and Tyler Smith currently of Eagle Twin took over. Holy shit that’s when they went from really good to great. Bands like The Blood Brothers got the press, but Form of Rocket had the goods. So jaw dropping live, and the albums were solid as well. They went through a few lineup changes when one of the members joined the Peace Corps. I always felt they were one of if not the best band SLC ever produced. This was a reunion show; wish to hell I was still living there to see it at the time.

One of the things that made Form Of Rocket so damn amazing is the fact that so few people actually gave a shit about the music they wrote. Hands down, one of the most incredible bands ever.

I say this all the time. I was lucky enough to see them live in LA at The Smell around 2006. I was really hoping for a better turn out for them, but basically it was a show for like 15 people (who were there to see someone else). I was stoked to see them live, but also bummed that there weren't a bunch of other fans there to really appreciate the experience. Those guys put on an incredible performance for ME. Thank You Form Of Rocket! You guys fucking rock! One of my best friends/bandmates/roommates was also with me at the show. Sadly he passed away to an opioid addiction not long after. It remains as one of my favorite memories of us. Watching this reminds me of our time enjoying this amazing band together.

Saw you guys in Wichita, KS in 2007. You guys have been one of my favorite bands for a long time. God Bless.

That zoom is an awesome little thing. Usually shoots kind of dark and the night mode is grainy, but the audio is perfect.

I just used a Zoom Q3HD. It has a pair of really nice condenser mics in an X/Y pattern so it's meant to handle loud applications such as this and gets awesome stereo imaging.

Yeah, if you're worried about picture, there are much better cameras to consider in that price range. But it's unparalleled in audio quality by any camera's I'm aware of.

Great video. But I would only consider this good audio if your primary interest in this band is the drummer. T-Top is loud as fuck!!! Which is awesome. But unfortunately the acoustics in Kilby are not meant to handle bands as loud as Form of Rocket.Especially if you're standing directly in front of the drummer...and effectively underneath the PA speakers. :)
