Thanks for the video. I have a question and I REALLY REALLY need the answer. What aspect of Formalism is the least relevant to help in text explication? Why?
@TeachinglearningEnglish3 жыл бұрын
This is just my opinion. In a nutshell, since formalism is focused on close reading "explication", the least relevant to consider is the structural aspect which includes the rhyme, syllabication. whether or not it follows perfect rhythmic patterns. It is also one of the reasons why there is "new formalism" or new cricitisim" of old pformalism because of some drawbacks observed.
@arthermiller72353 жыл бұрын

Hello I really liked your informative answer to my previous question. I have another question today: What specific part of the the theory is the most useful in helping a reader understand these texts? Why?
@TeachinglearningEnglish3 жыл бұрын
what a challenging question, Arther. Well, we know that formalism is highly centered on the arrangement of words rather than the implications of words, but it has a positive impact for creative writers. The highly structured form will somehow adds creativity in building/making words.It is considered as a strong foundation for potential writers. Conventional as many people say, but it cannot still be denied that we love well-structured sentences, how words are being emphasized.
