Thanks for sharing. Here is another way to accomplish the same thing: Open a CMD as administrator, at the prompt type diskpart and press enter as follows: C:\Windows\System32>diskpart (press enter) DISKPART> list disk (a list of your disk shows) select the disk you want: DISKPART> sel disk 1 (or 2 or whatever disk number you want) Disk 1 is now the selected disk. Execute the Clean command as follows: DISKPART> Clean DiskPart succeeded in cleaning your disk. Disk will now show as a new disk in disk management These steps will reset the hard drive as it was new and any data on it would be lost.

Thanks, I so forgot about this method to reset a configured NAS drive back to a regular HDD. Just remind people they need to restart the PC so they can do the configuration in Disk Management later.

I suspect that just using AOMEI to look at your drive might show it as an unrecognised HDD on which you could then delete partition-create partition-format might just do the same thing and much, much quicker.

This technique erases all data. When in Nas drive fails and you set up as raid drive. Plop a new one in and system rebuilds data
