I’m coming up on 4 years clean and 3 years sober. Iraq, Afghanistan, found out my ex wife was unfaithful while I was in Afghanistan. I broke. I fell apart. I went straight down. I was there for 6 years. Alcohol and cocaine every day. I don’t know how I did it but I’m so glad I did. I wouldn’t be here today if I didn’t. I did have many failures. It’s taken me years to get to where I’m at today. It’s not gonna happen over night. Don’t give up. Don’t think too far down the road either. It will mess you up.

Alcohol and cocaine don't mix. One is an upper one is a downer. I took care of a woman who did this and wound up with a heart attack in her twenties. Her brain didn't get enough oxygen and she was pretty much brain dead. It's very toxic and dangerous to do both. But you shouldn't do either. Find help find people that care. Your family cares if no one find a friend keep looking. Don't give up. Someone needs you. Someone will love you. Don't hurt yourself. Life is full of ups and downs, the downs don't last forever. Reading the bible may help you. God bless. 🌹🙏

@Ro Cor Well, it doesn't help that drugs are pouring over the border because of that lax policies of the Biden administration and a clueless VP in charge of the border. The more drugs come in, the more the user community expands, the more it will cost tax payers to provide them with treatment, which is not cheap. Also, there is a strong argument for tax payers from McDonald's employees to billionaires to pay for other people's bad choices.

Exactly, somebody is lining someone’s pockets under the table to get this stuff over here. I think they want all these deaths and then they are replacing Americans with the border crossers- they need that vote and they know they can’t pull the same trick as the last time. I do want to say Thank you for service to the American people… I know that it was never an easy task but I want to say thank you for keeping the streets safe. I was an addict for 10 years but I never stole or was so far gone that I sold myself. I was just physically addicted and trying to cover up my mental pain. Never had handcuffs on, luckily. I finally got clean about 6 years ago and will never look back. I just stay focused on trying to climb up this mountain.. one day at a time. Each day is a brand new day and I feel blessed to still have this chance to wake up every morning and feel the sunshine. Sending love 💗 to everyone that reads this. @Linda Lowther Do you not realize that it is the political parties in control of our country today (BOTH Democrats AND RINOs) that are keeping the border open for profit? It's not to me, nor to anyone else that responded to Fingers Jauch's comment. I have no quality of life now because I'm in constant pain and they took patient's pain medication without having any realistic replacement to treat the pain. I'm in no way knocking you for enjoying the feeling of taking them or thinking it was fun! I know lots of people who just loved the euphoria. But I never experienced that? I've known 2 people very closely to me who are addicted to these things. The stigma that comes with "coming out", is really part of the problem. Mental health is so important. All it takes is a bad moment in a person's life coupled with something like fentanyl and that's all it takes. I always tell my daughter to 1. Not get worried, as hard as it is, if things are completely out of her control and 2. There are no guarantees with life. We live in America and that we are very lucky to be here and should look at it that way. Despite of all the stupid IDPOL and corruption, people generally are very forgiving. I've seen a lot though of pain and suffering though and understand how people do get addicted to things that alleviates the mental anguish of things in their lives as it collapses in front of them. There really needs to be a way to just get rid of these very, VERY dangerous and addictive substances. But generally, too much of anything isn't good for you.

To anyone reading this that is struggling with addiction. There is a better way. Through the 12 steps I found a better way to live. The message that any addict regardless of age race sexual identity creed religion or lack of religion, can lose the desire to use and find a better way to live. One day at a time. I have been free from all substances and haven’t found a reason to use since 11/5/14. If you are reading this and you are struggling you still have a chance and god believes in you because you are still alive and breathing. Make a meeting surrender to that fact that you cannot have one of anything and get working on the steps. If I can do it then why can’t you. Believe in yourself because god believes in you!!!! ❤️

This gave me some extra hope as I am struggling with a long term IV heroin addiction and just started smoking fentanyl this year and even when I first made the "fetti" a new addition to my already unreal amount of heroin I was consuming per week I think it's just that I got numb to the extreme danger I was putting myself in Everytime I inhaled a chest full of the most dangerous drug on the street I noticed that I could do alot if I felt like it but friends of mine who are no stranger to hardcore opiate use some for 15 straight years were passing out off just a little bit of it and people I could vouch for that they survive injecting a large amount of high grade heroin were OD'ing off sometimes one hit that they barely inhaled it made me take a look at myself like one how am I even alive and two I know I'm not invincible if push comes to shove when is my luck going to run out and they find me dead in some sleazy motel or tent dead at 31 I don't want to go like that I have seen and been through way to much to give up on life and not do something to not only survive but make myself proud by doing something productive with the life I have so I'm proud to say I have been enrolled in a methadone maintenance program for almost a month and haven't missed a single day even though I have to wake very early in withdrawals and walk 4 miles round trip there and back it's going to all be worth it for sure it will not be over night I get clean but as I slowly level up my dose I become more stable and in control of my own fate

I have been clean for almost 9 years now, I was addicted to heroin, methadone, pills, pot and cigarettes. Jesus set me free from drugs, and sin, and I have no desire or craving to use. If you turn to Him in repentance, and believe He died for you and rose from the dead, I guarantee He will set you free.

And then people still want to pretend weed isn't a gateway drug. It very much is.

I agree but in a different way. With D.A.R.E. and all that stuff when I was young, you were always told how bad weed was, then you try it and see that it's not all that bad and you feel lied to. Then it leads to what other drugs have I been lied to about. This was also years ago when Drs. We're pushing all these other opioids on people. Drs say these are good for you and weed doesn't do anything like those drugs. The classification of weed to even be compared to any other drug is insane.
