I lived many many years of an hedonistic life. I rebelled against my God. He called me. He left the 99, and came to find me. He unseared my conscience. Brought me to Repentance by the Irresistible work of the Holy Spirit. He took away my promiscuity. He, after a time, freed me from drugs. He changes me every day to be more like Him. I am in utter awe of the work of the Holy Spirit to change my sinful desires. I can't wait until I am free from this body of death. Praise God.

Joshua, your story is hope filled. I watched this with mixed emotions. As the wife of an addict, who hid his addiction for decades, I see things very differently than I did before. We were always in the church, we were church leaders. I see how the church universally loves a testimony but ignores the victims in the same stories, the women and children who sit in the very same pews praying to be delivered from abuse of their addicted spouse/father. I see how the Christian community uses spiritual bypass for heinous sin. You can not pray away addiction. It is not cured overnight. A prison sentence doesn't changed very damaged thinking anymore than marriage counseling does. Jesus suffered for our sin but we seem to sell that all we have to do as a church member is pray. When we believe that humans are objects to be consumed for our temporary pleasure, we mock that Jesus gave his life to set the captives free. Using humans in such a degrading manner is the most counter Jesus behavior that exists today. True freedom from addiction takes intervention, years of programs, specialty providers, changing social circles, claiming responsibility, a deep historical work and a group of faith believers who are there to help with accountability and realize this isn't just something that requires more prayer. As you stated porn consumption rises, humans are sold for pennies. Churched and non-churched, the numbers are essentially the same. Women are taught to comply to whatever the husband desires. Safety for her, consent for her is not prioritized. Shameful behavior doesn't excuse accountability. Satan never made us sin. I was disappointed to hear the host say, "You were sucked into the industry." I appreciate that you took accountability and admit that you chose to put yourself in that position. Here is where I see the church failing universally. There's a lot of calling it out from the pulpit and virtually no sitting in with the damaged. My husband was praised for his testimony when he shared it. It was done privately to the pastor. The same pastor told me I must be a co-addict and gave me a copy of Counterfeit Gods. I was labeled and dismissed after being the hands and feet of Jesus to my husband for over 15 years. People who watch and participate in porn often consent. Those of us who have partners who secretly consume it, do not. The world isn't separated into good and evil. There is good and evil in the world and there is good and evil in the church. I hope that as you carry your testimony, you begin to preach from a trauma informed perspective. Contact Barbara Steffens, who created APSATS. Seek out the partners who have been marginalized. Talk to those in the faith community honestly about what accountability looks like for an addict. Talk about the programs you attended, the emotional and healing work that had to be done, the boundaries you employed, the amends you had to make, the consequences of your choices. A beautiful testimony is no longer what those hurt by the church and their addicted partners need to hear. They need to hear that a person, who was saved by grace spent the rest of their lives advocating for the victims of their previous sin. That is when the church will begin to heal and grow. The numbers of de-churching women who have sexually addicted husbands are profound. We are waiting.

I absolutely LOVE these kind of testimonies. All testimonies of people turning to Christ are beautiful but there's just something about testimonies from people who even a sinful world believe is beyond redemption that reveals the amazing grace of God able to save to the uttermost. I hope and pray that more people in the sex industry come to realize how much they are loved by God and His desire to heal all of their brokenness and bring each one into His marvelous light where there is peace, joy, and salvation in Jesus.

Very inspiring. I think it was at a Promise Keeper's meeting that I went to years ago that made the point that the two biggest sins that men commit are 1) sexual sins, (pornography) and 2) lying about the first one.

True. I go to a men’s bible group once a week but no one really talks about their sexual sins (rarely) but I know everyone in there is struggling somehow with either porn or actual sex. But it’s hard for men to open up about it, even amongst each other.

I have experienced being sold for sex, without approval by me, and I carried shame. I believed that was my only value and chose wrong things and people over and over. Until Jesus came to me again, and said firmly, that I was not nor was ever to be those things and saved my life, for good this time. I finally completely surrendered to Him. I'm a new being and know I am not those things!!! 🙌 Thank you for your testimony!!! It will help so many, no matter their journey. 🙏 😊🙌

It is such a proud moment for the GOP and Trump’s supporters as the nominee for president is sitting in a courtroom on trial for 34 counts of first-degree falsifying business records. Yep, the guy that said he was maybe the most honest person in the world tried to hide from the voting public information about his affairs with a porn star while his wife was at home nursing their newborn son and then paid Stormy Daniels $130,000 to keep her mouth shut. And Donnie is complaining that he can’t be at his son’s graduation. Ironic that he can’t make the graduation because he’s in court because he was screwing around with a porn star while his wife and newborn son were at home. Looks good on the multi time adulterer and convicted sex abuser.
