There are multiple issues that stem from this: 1) For every atrocity, there will be multiple recruits for these organisations 2) There is also collateral damage in terms of suicides by active service members (377 in 2020 not including those in the National Guard). It’s one thing to expect the military to do the dirty work, but, it’s another thing when they do not feel they have the moral high ground.

Is this the kind of govt that Afghans used to be proud of - torturing innocent people? Afghans who collaborated with foreign occupation forces deserved to be treated the same way. Western media is obsessed with the need for Afghan women’s freedom based on Western ideals in terms of attire, socialising and so-called human rights but failed to highlight the torture, indiscriminate incarceration and torture at Bagram as well as corruption of the previous govt.

If you are Muslim ' Following sunnah of the prophet pbh, should be the first choice of Muslim way. Prophet was the merciful forgiving kind and showed justice fairness even to his enemies. That is what these tortured men also said, we forgive them and only ask them to leave us alone, while their presidents keep saying " We will not forget & forgive.
