IMO they're not the most synchronised boy group, that goes to Seventeen, but NCT undoubtedly have the swaggiest and some of toughest choreos in K-pop. There are weak links as in they're not as hard hitting as the stronger dancers in the group but they get a pass since they have to conserve energy for their top tier vocals (SM have the best vocalists). I'll give you a for each sub-group. NCT 127 - Kick It (Performance Version) WayV - Takeoff (Performance Version) NCT Dream - Boom (dance practice schoolboy version) NCT U - BOSS (dance practice) < Legendary

That absolutely makes sense, to conserve energy for the vocals. And I agree about the swag! 💯 Thank you so much for those suggestions. I'll make sure to add them to my list.

youre right, theyre not all on the same level of dancing. like with every kpop group, they have main dancers who are better than the others, especially in the performance aspect. however, all of the members are very good and well trained, and can pull off really hard and unique choreos:) the main dancer in this unit is taeyong, the center guy in the jeans and gray sweater. he's the leader of the entire nct group. theres also a new member here (nct adds new members sometimes) called shotaro, and he was a professional dancer in a competitive team in japan until last year, so he's on another level too.

You're totally right! I think I watched this just after reacting to a handful of videos of Ateez and The Boyz, and typically those two groups seem to match each other very well in terms on dance or performance levels. I always try to mention, and I can't remember if I did in this video, that every dance practice or performance is just one snapshot. It could be a good take or a bad take for someone, and we'll never really know that. Obviously, anyone I'm reacting to is talented enough to debut and deserves that respect and recognition. That is so cool that they added a professional dancer to this group! I'm nervous and excited to learn more about them! Thank you so much for the discussion!

NCT as a whole is known for really innovative and complimentary dances with great concepts - SM artists usually are. If you react to more NCT dance practices I think you'll also see that some dancers have their own colours. I say this because some dancers have distinctive styles, which are misinterpreted at times. However, I think it's unique because some groups are forced to be standardised for appeal. Ironically those with more distinctive styles are usually the main dancers, such as Taeyong (the main center for most of this performance). Don't get me wrong, they can sync really well when needed but I also think it's good to be aware, it's fun to see how one uses their energy or focus points differently. The kind people in the comments helped break down NCTs concept, and I think if you continue to watch them you'll see the groups themselves have their own particular styles, 127 imo is more individualistic/artistic, Dream has amazing synergy and WayV is really sharp. But hopefully this is something you'll learn to love and see for yourself :) I'm sorry this was long. Your reaction was really good, your enjoyment for the song itself was a mood itself and the analysis you gave was helpful!

I love long comments! This was wonderful to read and reflect on. I've been discovering with kpop, since I am so new to the genre as a whole, that groups do vary in terms of style and technique. Ateez is a group I've recently become really excited with and they do not totally sync when dancing, but allow their individual styles to come out. It took a few videos as a former coach to get used to this style, but once I did I fell in love with it! It sounds like NCT, and their various units, will be a similar experience for me. Each one being unique in what they bring to a performance and why. I can't wait to look into these groups more, and appreciate SM artists as well. Thank you for enjoying my video and leaving such a nice comment. 😊

NCT dancing style is really different. They sometimes go for that synchronized choreo then shift to rough and dance it to your style concept. If you watch FIRETRUCK dance practice they are so synchronize there also in SIMON SAYS, LIMITLESS, CHERRY BOMB, BOOM, TAKE OFF, etc. They have this rough choreo like MAKE A WISH, KICK IT But it can't be denied that there main dancers are way into the another level like TAEYONG (probably he is the member who always showcase his dance style) TEN and JISUNG if they are the one who's leading the dance break you can see that they makes the dance much stronger NCT 127 probably the group who have diverse dance concept. NCT Dream they are more into synchronized dance style. their choreo is fun and you can tell that they are young. Especially, We go up, We young, Chewing Gum, 123. WAYV their dance style is into groovy movements. NCT U as the unit who don't have permanent members. Probably the reason why you can tell that every member have different dance style cuz they are from different group that pursue different dance style. What makes NCT really fun is that you won't know what will happen next. Hahahhaha and they are worth it to STAN!! This year another unit might debut sooo.

Thank you for this comment and your suggestions!!! That's so cool that each unit has their own style and purpose. I can barely remember the current units, I don't know what I'll do if they debut another one. @@SashaMarie oh, you should check out BABY DON'T STOP which sang by two main dances of NCT TEN and TAEYONG. You will definitely know how different Ten and Taeyong dance style. 11 months late and I'm sure you already know this but in case you don't well Taeyong like San of ATEEZ has no background in dancing. Look at him now he's leading a group of 23 members and he's one of their MAIN DANCERS, imagine that you have absolutely no idea of dancing probably being uncoordinated as all hell but through years of practice and sheer determination you improved and became the leader of your group and is one of the members who are proficient in dancing.
@bentenv75243 жыл бұрын
Okay, so NCT's system isn't as difficult to understand as you might think. Basically, new members can be added at any time. As of now, there are 23 members and 4 subunits that devide the NCT brand into what you could consider seperate kpop groups. I'll quickly introduce the current units. NCT U stand for "NCT United", which simply means that this unit can contain any combination of NCT members and most of the time, there will only be 1 song with a certain combination and for the next song they might have a completely different set of members. The members you just watched in Make A Wish are: Taeyong, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Lucas, Xiaojun, Jaemin and Shotaro NCT 127 is the "global" unit. 127 is the longitudinal coordinate of Seoul, which means they spread they spread their music from Seoul to the rest of the world. This is supposed to be a a unit without any member changes but there have been quite a few through the years but they're not like NCT U where it switches every song. The member changes are rare and they're only minor changes. NCT 127 can be seen as any ordinary kpop group to keep it simple. Current members: Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark and Haechan (Winwin is technically also still part of this unit since it was never announced that he left but he hasn't participated in their music for 2 years now) NCT Dream was supposed to be a unit with only the youngest members where they leave the unit once they're adults and new young members would be added but last year, this plan basically got cancelled and now they'll have the same system as NCT U, with the only difference being that they can only contain any combination out of these 7 members (the og lineup): Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle and Jisung WayV is the newest and the simplest unit. They're the Chinese unit and they haven't had any member changes since their debut. They're basically like any other idol group but it's unclear if member changes are actually impossible. (Current) members: Kun, Ten, Winwin, Lucas, Xiaojun, Hendery and Yangyang One last note: there are currently 2 members who only joined recently. These 2 are Sungchan and Shotaro and they haven't been assigned to any "fixed" unit yet. They'll be joining a new unit that is assumed to be announced very soon so if you wanna get to know NCT, do it now cause it's gonna get more complicated the more you wait.

I'm going to need to read this at least two more times to soak in this information. Thank you so so much for taking the time. This does make so much more sense. The part about 127 is so sweet?! I love that so very much. And I thought NCT U stood for Universe so I'm glad you clarified (like AU or Marvel U, lol). 😂 Thank you so much for explaining this in a way that actually makes total sense. NCT fans must be super intelligent and always on their toes with all the member changes. lol I guess it keeps it fun and interesting though!

Absolutely! I can't remember if I mention anything in this video, but this is just a snapshot of their day, just one practice out of who knows how many. So it's completely understandable that not every practice video is going to look 100% perfect, and that's okay. We're just lucky they choose to share any practice videos with us at all!
