How u phase in bentley hack things in world 8 and maybe others?

That's a trick called Ghosted Hacks. I set up fake floor on the egg and use the glitchy properties from that to run through walls inside the hacks. It's fairly inconsistent unless your movement is very precise, so I was quite lucky to get it this run. Here's how to replicate: -Set your position to the egg as Sly (4:44:10) -Despawn the egg and get pulled back before it can spawn back (4:44:18) -Return to the safehouse and pick bentley and go to the job. Don't run too far away from the egg, or fake collision will trigger early. -Run to the first PC The hacking levels are actually located far above the map, so your position will be moved up there, triggering fake collision as it does and allows us to run through the walls. After that is when the inconsistent part happens. When you get control over Bentley again, sometimes you don't get collision back and will have to jump your way to the next computer (or die to reset the collision). If you get collision back however, you can just run to the next PC and keep going (like in this video). Fake collision is basically a glitched state caused by setting up fake floor. It allows us to run through walls and such, but is mostly used to skip cutscenes. The exceptions are in the hacks in ep 8 (Bentley/Murray Team Up) and to kill the guards quicker in ep 4 (Disguise Bridge).

Those are either episode-run files or practice files. I use cheat codes to warp to the episodes to do individual episode runs or practice a certain job or part of the run.

Just keep jumping and hitting the circle button repeatedly. And to climb the rock wall, all you have to do is jump, hit the circle button and as soon as your cane touches the hook, jump again. So that way you don’t have a pull all the way back to launch yourself

The Japanese version is not available for digital download which makes it slower. If it was available digitally then it might be faster but we don't know. The Japanese PS2 version is faster but they re-dubbed it for the HD Collection so the PS3 version has a different japanese dub.

Why do you use the cane when you jump

Horizontal swipe = Glitch High Jump (GHJ), vertical swipe = Square boost. GHJ is for height and/or distance and square boosting is for quick jumps preserving whatever speed I had into a jump.

Outside of Cairo, there isn't much we can skip as of yet unfortunately. Even tho we're able to break the game quite heavily at times, the game still holds together by simply not loading future triggers. If we skip to the end of an area, the end trigger simply isn't loaded. This requires us to hit every trigger before we can hit the end trigger. In other words, if we start in spot A and want to go to spot C, we have to first hit spot B to activate the trigger for spot C. Cairo is an exception to this rule. The day an episode skip, a day skip or even a job skip (even if slower than just doing it) is found, it would (at least be the first step to) revolutionize Sly 2 speedrunning.
