Food and water is most important RIGHT NOW! i have been there. After Katrina, we even had plenty food but many didn't. We could get water because their are free flowing wells in the South but ICE was gold. Ice can become water so there was no waste. Drop ice, food and water into these isolated areas.

🤔 hmmm… that’s weird. Craig says don’t go to these areas, just send money. But organizations in these areas are asking people to come and volunteer to aid in the clean up, or whatever else. My suggestion is to do what your heart leads you to do to help in any way possible, whether that’s sending money, donations of other resources, time and effort, prayers, etc. These poor people need all the help they can get!

Insurance? The CEOs and their Boards and high-powered legal teams find a way to dishonor what is in plain English in their contracts. My farm was hit by a tornado July 29, 2023 at 7:15 pm - flattened out buildings and destroyed equipment, ripped apart pergola on side of house, punctured holes through steel barn siding, and broke windows on north side of house. Estimators came, took photos, received receipts for flattened outbuilding. Total damage $120K+. To date, they have only paid out $22K. I have FULL REPLACEMENT VALUE and COST coverage. Ah, they say, for that you must first have the new outbuilding ordered, installed and paid for before we pay. Now, who the heck has that kind of cash laying around? Only about 10% of Americans. So, their lawyers and reps and I go round and round on calls. They make it clear that they will wait me out. Clearly, insurance is only good for rich folks. Otherwise, a license to steal and worthless contracts. Meanwhile, if you have a MAGA Governor and Attorney General and Congressional Representative, good luck. They make it clear that consumers and regular Americans do NOT MATTER - they take all direction from Big Business. What a pathetic joke, MAGA Cult Republicans are - and Big Insurance? Disgusting. Oh, and if a massive tree has fallen on your house or barn or tractors or chicken runs, prepare to bend over. ... Theyll only pay $500 for tree to be "lifted and set next to structure. That's it. What is this, 1965? Every quote to lift and set aside massive oaks was between a low of $7000 and $14K per tree. Per tree. Way too many Insurers are con-artists. Further insult to injury, because I filed claims - first EVER in 35 years of home ownership, my rates nearly tripled from $2K+ a year to just under $6K.

HELENE’S TEARS OF SORROW 2024!! The storms of life come to everyone There are none who are immune. Some approach in our later years While others come too soon. Helene hit like an atom bomb Consuming the helpless in its path. The waters of the deep surged forth Flooding everything with their wrath. Conviction is our emotional union As we weather the storms of Earth. Thank God for His amazing grace Which helps us reveal our worth. Time wipes tears from all faces Whose hearts are tuned to sorrow. Those that cry a thousand tears Shall be blessed by tomorrow. By Tom Zart!

after a flood like this, does it make sense to rebuild in the same place? no. it doesn't. collect your insurance and leave town for higher ground.

We are not represented by our tax money. We are used as a bank. We have $700B to send to Ukraine because the US wants resources there. We can’t set aside chunks like that, plan, invest, save? Then we let in several million people who don’t work, don’t know English and hundreds of thousands are criminals. We’d be better off if you did nothing and let the people keep their money and help each other.

FEMA kinda scares me… remember after Katrina, when FEMA finally got some traction and "helped." They gave away all those trailers to the hardest hit folks and a couple, three years later those people came down sick with different cancers? Later, they found links between those trailers and the illnesses because of the toxic chemicals found in the trailers, like formaldehyde. I remember.
