My stance is and continues to be that Claudine Gay has plenty of experience quelling the speech of students she doesn't agree with. Her answer in front of Congress should have been simple because she is fully capable of stopping this behavior. While I appreciate this former professors example of two students having a one on one conversation about the topic of genocide, that is not the kind of behavior Congress was asking Claudine Gay about and she knew it. She sat there (as did the other professors) and tried to weasel her way out of taking a strong stance against this type of hatred and speech that is intended to incite violence. YES, Calling for the genocide of anyone is abhorrent language that should come with consequences and in the context it is being used on campus (and the actions against Jewish students) shows that it falls under the unprotected speech definition given by the Supreme Court in 1973. I look forward to Congress digging deep into these colleges to root out the biased administrative policies that exist in them.

The Supreme Court decisions do not apply here. Universities are private. So, they created their own code of conduct as it relates to speech on campus. And the issue is that they don't apply it uniformly; hypocrisy is pretty obvious. Bottom line, the government can't really interfere with that since none of this falls under the 1st amendment. They can, however, pull federal funding, which would be a nice step. The bigger issue is that science has been replaced by pseudosciences. The reason for all this is money. The created so many new fake science, such as gender studies, race related studies and what not. Now, they can accept much more students without requiring too many hard skills and get richer and richer from tuition.

Remember when earlier in the year the number of total Arab civilians that were massacred in Syria surpassed 400,000 and people across the west didn’t show outrage or mass protest because it wasn’t the Jews who did it? Pepperidge Farms remembers. Pepperidge Farms remembers that no one cared because the masterminds behind HALF A MILLION total deaths were brutal, vicious ISLAMIC groups and dictators and not those darn ‘pesky’ Jews. I say this as a fully black woman and a moderate: the left’s hypocrisy knows no bounds anymore when it comes to when it’s okay to be violent and in regard to sexual assault, terrorism or racism. We used to have simple definitions for these words that most of the globe agreed on through the 90s and even through the 2010s but now all definitions have become meaningless because people have blurred the lines to a RIDICULOUS extent. People now have to do mental gymnastics to explain to you why it was okay to slaughter innocent Israeli children. This country is doomed if we can’t define things anymore. I even have people telling me (starting from about 5 years ago or so) that I can’t be racist now because I’m black. What kind of nonsense is this? So I can go around harassing white people for being born white? Call them cr*ckers as they walk by? I can do that, right?…Since my people have had a history of oppression here? I get a pass like Hamas, right? How far do these blurred lines go? Can I steal from stores if it is owned by white people? Can I k*ll innocent white families and kids due to my oppression? Where do you psychopaths draw the line? You see the problem with stretching the definitions of racism, genocide and terrorism to include oppression or past “colonization”? This needs to stop.

You actually can go around disparaging whites if you want and it won't be considered racist or anything. Our own government listed white males as the biggest threat to our nation. Hell, that black guy who messed with that ladies dog and then turned the camera on to catch her freaking out was practically given an award, in spite of the fact that he admitted he messes with people's dogs to freak them out. There's a video of a black woman demanding an apology from a white woman for brushing against her daughter, even going so far as to stand behind their vehicle so they couldn't leave, in spite of the fact that she did apologize. But once the pregnant white woman pulled a gun on the lady, suddenly it was the white lady fault. Imagine a white woman demanding an apology from a black woman, getting the apology and then crying victim when they wouldn't quit screwing with the black woman. Black people, especially women, are in the same position that fragile Jim crow white women were. They can do no wrong.

Is discussing, or even expressing agreement with the killing a person covered under free speech? Probably, depending on the context. Is CALLING for a person to be killed? No. That is incitement of violence or intimidation / harassment.

Gay supports free speech as long as you don't give you view. Fire her, don't allow her to resign. She's dragged Harvard into the gutter.

I think one reason Harvard moved to a Hamas and Hezbolah friendly group, is because of the money, coming from islamistic states, such as Qazar.

The worst part of all this is that people will remember. Being a grad from an elite University is now akin to not finding a job anywhere! My boss just rejected two candidates from two of those universities because Texas is becoming multicultural as other states, and he did not want to deal with racist or strongly opinionated people in the workplace.
@babyamyxo-o6c Жыл бұрын
She finally stepped down after being leech 💃🏻Now we shouldn't let her spin it as racism. UPenn's Magill didn't have any defense, Dr Hooven didn't get any defense. There's a huge social expectation on us non-black women to always defend them and never say anything against them. Dr.Hooven had to tip-toe and justify Claudine G till she was asked about her own case. CGay or any other administrator never stood up for Dr.Hooven. They're worse than the patriarchy, because we can't even speak up openly against them.The HYPOCRISY is SICKENING. LADIES WAKE UP!!!

It all depends on the context, especially when one is creating it by turning blind eye on calls directed against particular ethnicity for exemple. May I remind you that some journalists and writers were condemned in France to a firing squad in 1945 precisely for creating a context in which deportations into death camps became possible within hostile or indifferent population

The president of the university should know better than to go out there directly with a legalese response. Their responses were so near identical in their basic formulation that they had to be written by lawyers and they said them virtually verbatim.
