When She asked him about asylum seekers not being illegal, instead of answering the question he quotes US code 1325. 1325 doesn't apply to asylum seekers. He knows that. US code 1158 allows asylum seekers to cross between check points and request asylum legally. Under Trumps policy and not the law, those legal asylum seekers were charged with a crime and separated as a deterrent policy. The courts stopped that policy.

Precisely! One of my favorite aunts is a legal immigrant from Mexico. She initially had her citizenship through her marriage to my uncle, but she worked hard and conformed to all the proper legal channels and managed to secure her own citizenship apart from that. I am immensely proud of that. Illegal immigrants of the sort that AOC is championing (Likely because she's being bought off by MS- 13 and the Mexican drug cartels) are essentially spitting in the faces of my aunt, Jugaad's parents, and all the other hard- working legal immigrants who did things the right way. To use a school analogy, legal immigrants are like students who got an A on an exam by studying hard, getting a good night's sleep, rehearsing the material, etc.. Illegal immigrants, in contrast, are like students who got an A on the same exam by cheating, then rubbed that fact in the faces of the students who studied.

Well these detention centres were not designed to be prisons but ever since the change in policy children have died, it's public knowledge and there must be a reason why deaths were such a rarity in the past and why they're commonplace now. We know children have been forced to stay in cells designed for temporary accomodation for months - That's why we're even having this discussion. The Netflix Pandemic documentary followed ICE volunteers who were under-supplied for even the most basic necessities - Families died because the Federal Government wouldn't send additional flu jabs or other essential medicines. These are documented facts, not conjecture, and why shouldn't we have an investigation? These centres are supposed to be responsible for the children in their care because the parents seemingly aren't - So it's their responsibility if those children die in said care. If this were a children's home or a school there would be an uproar. It's obvious your interest in this topic is politically motivated, your 'tow the line', 'don't rock the boat' rhetoric gives it away. Sorry but asking questions is important, offending your pride and sensitivity isn't. Imagine being so brainwashed that you literally couldn't care less about children dying, and so jilted that you believe anyone who does care has an alterior motive, I guess you don't have to.
