I pray she gets better. She made some very bad decisions. If her mother hand it that's even more reason to get screenings. And she should have just followed doctor's advice. Stage 4 is somewhere you don't want to be. Your chances of survival are dramatically better at Stage 1.

That was my friend's mom. She was diagnosed with inoperable stage 4 cancer in 2020 and given a few months to live. She finally passed this August but her docs wanted to study her to figure out how she was able to live so long with the type of cancer she had.

I really like her. My mom was diagnosed stage III in 2010, did everything- double mastectomy, chemo, radiation, pills for years and years to decrease chances of return, amazing diet (she always had an amazing diet though) - and it still came back 12 years later in 2022 in the bones. It now becomes a let's treat this until we cannot kind of thing, which we all hope takes years or decades. She's 100% right to choose what helps her quality of life while making sure she's alive as long as possible.
@UnbotheredLibraBeauty2 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear that. Sounds like a strong woman. How old is your mom?

@@UnbotheredLibraBeauty Thanks. She's 72 now. Even with stage 4, it's been stable for her so far so we take all the great that comes with it and live in the moment. It's a hard disease, I feel for everyone going through it.

Stay strong keep pushing and find the beauty of life , continuing smiling and appreciate the good , the bad as well as ugly that comes with journey but remember life is what you make it. Lots of love and prayers to Ananda Lewis. Used to love watching Teen Summit on BET back in the 90's. Fight for your health and wellness like stage four breast cancer, u got this. Stage four breast cancer killed Shannen Doherty but she fought it until she couldn't fight anymore. Always see your doctor and take care of yourself but always know your prognosis and diagnosis to see if your tumors are cancerous or benign. And get your mammograms women and men. Enough said.

Not surprised she took an holistic approach to her journey. I will keep her lifted in prayer. Steve Jobs choose to ignore his oncologist's recommendation to get radiation and chemotherapy to treat his cancer. He decided to use holistic medicine to treat pancreatic cancer. However, after a few years, his cancer spread and he got really sick. He chose to undergo chemotherapy to fight the disease and he died 10 days after he started his chemo. Amanda sounds like she's at peace with her decision. I commend you for living life on your own terms.
@covegirl06Ай бұрын
Pancreatic cancer has the lowest prognosis of all cancers, even with treatment. It is unresponsive/resistant to most drugs. The 5 year survival rate for pancreatic cancer is like 5% compared to breast cancer which is more like 75%. Steve Jobs was lucky in the sense that his form of pancreatic was the less aggressive form. He lived for 8 years after his diagnosis, which is RARE for most pancreatic cancer patients. My mom just died from pancreatic cancer even after getting chemo. She only lasted 6 months. I wish she had breast cancer instead. Probably would’ve lived a lot longer.
