I hope you guys watched yourselves interviewing Zara Sultana and will reflect on it. Regardless of the complaints to Ofcom, as a white more than middle aged christian bloke, I really wanted to hear Ms Sultana's perspective on the riots, that were focussed on our muslim neighbours, as a representative in parliament. She was talked over and demeaned and apart from being frustrated at not being able to listen her I was embarrassed about how she was treated. Then compare it to how you interviewed your WIFE.

Many, many people have been trying to protect the next generation from this racist savagery for years. It may be an uphill battle, but I believe that we've succeeded in bringing up a generation who view racial hatred as an embarrassing and shameful 'throw back' to the late 20th Century, and an irrelevance to the challenges which they'll face in this one. The (big) problem has been the harnessing of online life by white supremacists with unlimited funds, and the opportunistic politicians who sniff at their coat tails. In combination, they've managed to make ethno-nationalism 'fashionable' once again - and it's no coincidence that this occurs at a time in which the last of the WW2 veterans and Holocaust victims are passing away. There has been a poisonous, fatal inversion dripped into people's minds over the last 15 or so years that perhaps the war was won by 'the wrong side', that 'race' and 'nationality' are synonymous, and that 'patriotism' is a necessary bulwark against progress, national growth and personal development in a rapidly changing world. I'm (guardedly) optimistic that the terrible recent events will have galvanised and lent courage to thousands of 'silent' anti-racists. Our voices have never been in greater need.

I don't know what to really say about Collins for expressing himself and realising his wrongdoings - if this was genuine and heartfelt - obviously fair play to him and he's paid for his crimes, but sadly in this world - when you have a track-record of violent behaviour or you aligned with the likes of the NF or the EDL, you get a bad reputation, but it can only be faded and near enough cleared if time has passed and you realised the wrongdoings and never go back to that kind of life. I mean the last 7-10 days at least has been an absolute disgrace - I would argue that last week has been one of the worst weeks for the UK. The public are really mad at how things went off in Southport, and are further angered in terms of the way these riots have happened where a minority are taking it out on the wrong communities based on lies and misinformation, and the behaviour has been inappropriate and a disrespect to those in Southport and the victims of that horrific attack. There isn't need for that thuggery behaviour, and despite what we all think of the police forces or the government regardless of party, the one thing that I think we all agree with is that we want our streets and our livelihoods being safe for everybody - regardless of characteristics or origins.

You can walk and explore your local area, volunteer to help with some good cause, or even, and I know this is a radical idea to some, get a job and contribute to society. I don't think people realize the sheer scale of museums and art galleries that are free of charge to use, and even entertainment within the home such as tv and radio is positively kaleidoscopic in range compared to when people were growing up in widespread deprivation a century or so ago. When I think of the lives of my grandparents and many of their generation, I can't imagine what they would think to hear someone bemoaning the supposed hardships of today's youth, with the expensive clothes and smartphones they possess.

The NF were at its hight in the 80s winning council seats in Barking and Dagenham and yes for a few decades way back in the 70s I remember hearing about of the bashing Pakistanis gangs they were roaming London. Majeed Newaz talks about Combat 18 in Southend attacking him because of his skin. But Ska was also at its peek in the 80s, the two-tone revolution. Musical heroes for the kids with black and white band members. I didn't like the fashion, but it was still a good thing wasn't it? The BNP were the rebranding of the NF, and they were historically the absolute first group to state there were Muslim grooming gangs. It was the Muslim Council of Britain who countered what the BMP said by saying it was all racist Islamophobia and untrue. The government sided with the MCB in that debate and called those children as making life choices. I think we are still suffering from that Government decision to cover up the crimes that were upheld in a theology as permissible acts. Mass migration doesn't just feature that religious theocracy. There are the drug gangs coming over for drug selling, and the mass uneducated who drive down resource opportunities as a supply versus demand issue. There are a lot of pros and cons that are behind the recent riots which I think the media are ignoring like the Goverment did over grooming.

Don't understand why the ex-copper said he was at the Nottinghill Carnival and he had to stand there and be spat out because he was a black police office. Don't think so, it is a criminal offence to spit at anyone, especially the police. Don't know why he was taught that he must accept it, because if I spat at a police officer anywhere, I would expect to taste concrete, be in a lot of pain, struggling to breath, hang cuffeed and in a back of a dark van. He was being spat out, because thugs were seeing they could spit at him and get away with it.

@@EdwardLindon Yes, he was taught to accept being constantaly spat at, that was WRONG. He should have been removed from the situation or arrests should have been made. It is actually a criminal offence and you can get a year in prison for it!
