You know that saying, “You can’t go home, again”? Well, it turns out that was kind of true for me. My beloved Houston Oilers, the team that drafted me to the NFL in 1984, relocated to Nashville in 1997 and they are now the Tennessee Titans.
Fortunately, the history of my old team lives on in their training facility and I’ve been able to go back there a couple of times; once with my son Axel, who is working to make his own NFL (and NBA) dream come true.
As you probably know, I like to keep my life about moving forward, creating now and making new dreams come true. But you’ve got to look back. How else are you going to capture the moments that define your story?
Remember, your story is the building block. Everything you build, meaning your family, your business, your community, comes from it. But there’s another important thing about looking back-energy.
I often get this question, “Bo, how do you stay motivated? What inspires you?”
Well, for me, sometimes it’s as simple as going home and remembering that 22-year-old kid who lived out his dream-and continues to.
Let’s go.
