I take back my initial comment solely after listening to the whole interview, my God anger is a disease “My Apologies Mr Gono you absolutely inspired me with the story of your life, and I respect that you are a God fearing individual. Your testimonies touched me immensely. Your shortfalls as the former governor are Gods business not mine. Thanks Mr Trevor for this eye opening interview. Really changed my life.

I have had a change of opinion from when I initially posted: "I am with you. Great work by Trevor with these interviews. Respect" True 'repentance' if I should call it that leads to restitution, restoration. There needs to be a commission that looks into all (if any) ill-gotten wealth and this mob needs to pay it back in USD. Many gains were made under his watch, many people's FCA illegally vanished i.e. robbed. There is a wider saga

Very interesting interview. An eye opener indeed. As a people we tend to run with hear says until we either do our own research or hear stories from the horses' mouth. I lost a lot of money during Gono's term. And was very bitter. But I always suspected that he had one of the most toughest jobs. Listening to his story now makes me realize that the President's Act is more powerful than being a governor. When you have a boss like Bob, you will do as told. Period!!!

@@quintonmadaure8707 hi Quinton. I certainly agree that his tenure at the apex bank inspired few admirable accolades. I actually made that comment in the second part of his interview where I questioned the moral argument he postulated for the unprecedented printing of money. He argues that money growth was to save lives but the ultimate consequence of that action and policy was to set the entire country back several decades economically. So in that regard I do agree with you but my commendation for the old guy comes from having listened to what he said in the interview regarding how to get the country back on track. His prognosis on our problems is in fact quite accurate regardless of yours and my feelings for him. Have a look at the interview he and Alex Magaisa had about the Farm Mechanisation program of 2008. You will find my comments there were much less kinder.

He says he sleeps about 8 hours stretch but there are people today who can’t sleep because they lost everything because of his policies. Some people even committed suicide. I have no admiration at all for this man, he may be intelligent or may be a good orator but he was employed to be governor of RBZand he should have those to good use , but because of power and greed he contributed to where we are today. He destroyed Zim economy. People of Zim don’t be naive, no wonder we are here we admire the wrong things in people. Being a good speaker does not necessarily mean you do good . And he rubs salt into people’s wounds by saying he is at peace and sleeps for 8 hours, what a nerve , he is totally unrepentant. Gono is just imitating his God Father Mugabe. Fair play to him that he recognises that Zanu will never take Zimbabwe forward

I know so insightful he is a genius he beat inflation by printing bank notes every 24hrs and now we compete on the world markets because of him.

I'm amazed to see many of the gesticulations of Mugabe are rubbed off on Gono

@@denniesmagura7570 it is not copying. If you interpret that as copying then you better not have anyone you look up to because then it will be consider as "copying". Be serious.

Gono acknowledged that we had the best team to steer the economy during the GNU. My question is, who then destroyed that team?
@TafaraBwerinofa

Simple, the team was destroyed when the GNU ended. Also the reason the team succeeded is it stopped Gono from Quasi fiscal activities. He Gono was the problem.
