First time message, i really enjoy your LPs since you're not cheesing everything. ❤ I love the idea of France (Monarchy) and Britain (Republic) swapping roles in this playthrough, its cool

I think the constant max taxes are causing high turmoil. Should probably prioritize taking that down a notch.

brother doctrine of lapse is an option available to annex your puppets, right click your subject and do that. and instead of having so many consumption taxes use your authority to get qualifications up, you’ll solve a lot of staffing problems.

I think that going Laissez-Faire as Hindustan was a trap. Sure the -25% loan interest rate sounds good, but the +75% on *private* sector allocation would get your industrialization date even further. As we saw you immediately went -20k on income switching from Agrarianism to Laissez-Faire, since your country mostly consists of lower strata pops. I'd love to be wrong, but I think more valid strategy would stay hard on Agrarianism, pump those Grain fields and Opium fields for export, and then _naturally_ transit to a Command Economy and basically become communist with the One State Party. Indian subcontinent is mostly peasants (lower strata) and taxing them directly (grain, clothes, cotton) along with leaving those tiny bits of middle-upper strata you have goes way more than what we currently have here. Although, I'd love to be wrong, especially if you have already recorded the whole series.

I think this is the time to tax the lower strata, as the taxes aimed towards them are more profitable than the high strata you implemented in the beginning of the video (coffee tax). Sometimes you just have to tax grain, clothes, and furniture as an agrarian nation, since your pops mostly are lower strata. It sucks to be poor, so just...don't be poor Hindustani peasant, lol. The taxation level mostly is tax on the income (I guess works like a VAT in European countries?), whereas the consumption taxes can target specifically the pop strata, just like it was in Vic 2.
