Very neat. I remember watching our men making screw sections when I was a kid. A stack of disks were put into the coke forge, heated and then pressed. Your system is so much more efficient.

Hi Dru, The operator will enter all of the finished flight dimensions into the touch screen on the machine and the PLC will then calculate all appropriate machine settings for the accurate forming of the said flights, including the forming gap. At this point the reliance on the operator to consistently return to the same position and apply the same pressure is eliminated because the machine returns to exactly the same forming position every time ensuring consistent forming of the flight. Hi Nathan, All parts are cold formed with consideration and allowance calculated, and applied, for any particular materials stress/strain and springback therefore once the part has been through the machine's forming process it is complete and ready for use - No need for any stress relieving.

AdvancedSpiral We buy from a company called Conveyor Engineering. They really do top-notch work, but each flight is matched with the next one in line; so 1-2,2-3,3-4, etc. I couldn't flip one around or mix match them and expect them to line up exactly the same without some "persuading". But this isn't necessarily a bad thing, like I said, they do awesome work and any completed augers we buy from them have nice machine welds on them with very few defects.

KISSMYACE3203 I assume you are talking about Conveyor Eng & Mfg in Cedar Rapids. I know these guys and yes they do make a nice flight - much better than many. I guess the advantage of our system is you never need to do any 'persuading' no matter what order you fit the flights.
