The Genre that it corresponds to for Western Audience is Dixieland Jazz (with a fast swing beat) from the 1920's. I like the song quite a bit, not so much the video or the dancing (too simplistic). If they wanted to be more true to the genre, they should had done a modern take on the Charleston.

It's really different for kpop these days and I like it.

as an american, the horn and piano and the way two of the girlies go down in tone and grind up their voices in the pre-choruses sounds like a 50s or 20s, just 20th century era parade or jazz-ish tune (the tinnyness of the horn is the mute placed on it its commonly done in jazz) and with the edm and hip hop thrown in, it feels like a fusion of all of that. if i close my eyes in the beginning and listen i think of a carnival or a 20s dance club with the instruments.

I’m from Chile and I gotta say this comeback is really good. Apart from the lack of Daisy and Taeha, Jane and Ahin killed it. Most people complain about the simple/“underwhelming” dancing throughout the video but I think what they’re trying to do is keep with the “simple and catchy” dances, because that’s a great part of why Bboom Bboom and Baam were so popular, the dances aren’t hard to copy and you can learn them fast, which is great tbh. Overall I think if they stick with this formula, the girls will be up there with other big groups for a while. Greetings from Chile!

I have conflicting feelings. Shinsadong Tiger has a history of pigeonholing groups into one style and rarely diverting from it. Bboom Bboom, Baam, and now I'm So Hot all have the same style/structure (while I'm So Hot definitely has a different sound, it's structurally a repeat of the previous two and is clearly going for the same upbeat EDM formula). To my ear, I'm kinda tired of it and would like them to evolve the style a bit. However, I also think this is the most well-produced and interesting of the three songs at hand. The electro-dixieland thing is incredible and I'm very into it (as a trumpet player, it really hits the right notes for me), this song takes more advantage of the group's vocal capabilities than the previous two (Jane and Ahin though, WOW), and it overall goes more interesting places. But it still feels like just a different sound plastered on top of the same song, though that could just be me. Like I said, conflicting. Also the choreo is definitely lacking, even though Yeonwoo makes it look cute as hell.

im a momoland fans. but i have to admitted that, the reality that momoland is an underrated girl group. its hard for them to get the chart, with this kinda music formula they had. cause kpop chart standart is so depend to fanbase power, so... it almost impossible for momoland with their resources and fanbase to fight against other big GG on chart (yet idk why a lot of 'big' GG fanbase hate momoland that much eventho they know momoland didn't have the power against them). but one thing for sure, the reason why i still love momoland, they have their own TRUE COLOUR. I found that *MOMOLAND is different from any other GG who imo just like the same each other*. and as u said, they seems have their own formula now, which is momoland style, they make kpop more colourful, i'm proud of them.

Mr Shinsadong Tiger again. Momoland has to light candles for that man. 😂 When I listen to Show Me album teaser I listen to one thing, and when I listen to the MV teaser I listen other thing. and I worried a little. (I'm a fan of mmld) At first I did not hit the song so much because it took me repetitive. but, I started to like it more when listening to it many times. and it's not bad but it's not better than the previous ones either. for me this is a midpoint and it could be the beginning of being able to show different things in the future. I loved Jane's work in this song. she has had a huge evolution in the last 3 comebacks, she is the MVP in this comeback. for me girls go well in this comeback despite missing 2 of the most important members in their lines. And a separate point is that they still get good b sides. and in that sense they have not disappointed. and it's a shame that people do not value that. My favorite song of the whole album is What You Want

The influence is most definitely not the 1950s. It's big band inspired, and clearly evokes the late 1930s. Even the choreography matches that period.

I’m international and I actually really like it and I like momolands formula of two member rap break and extremely catchy chorus with an addictive easy and fun to do dance with it

Interesting that your reaction was what I said about the track: That despite the track is clearly different from their previous releases, it still shows that now Momoland has a clear formula for their songs, and that the track reminds of Orange Caramel's music.

Kinda read my mind there PD. Definitely filling that void that ironically I have recently been missing and been re-watching old stuff of Orange Caramel. I miss hearing Nana all the time and I went back to the Catallena compilations of their "HA! I have no qualms with Momoland filling that void, watching their streams and Vlives and whatnot they are a fun group of girls. Plus having that impact of Daisy, Nancy, and Ahin speaking fluent english and often streaming in English it really reaches to the international audiences.

The one thing I can say it reminded me of with the brass is Lone Digger by Caravan Palace. But it has that "electro swing" feel as well. So in comparison to your Korean routes the only equivalent that I personally can think of would be the 1920s, where swing music and flappers were around. A happy yet tragic time.

Oooh, now that you said they had something of trot, I remember Hong Jinyoung tapping into EDM, mixing it with Trot. It would be kinda cool to have a collaboration between MOMOLAND and Hong Jinyoung. Electro Swing? Maybe really weird: MOMOLAND and Caravan Palace Collaboration. Otherwise I'm just a bit confused with I'm So Hot, but I appreciate trying out something new, within their formula.

I'm not Korean but I listen to music like this. There are artists in America that have this sort of sound. If you watch things like Homestuck or anything in that kinda category, most of the music that I've seen associated with that sounds like this. It's kind of a 'Steampunk' genre. I know many people that listen to this genre of music as well.

How are you gonna react to MMLD before Park Bom's comeback that was literally a week ago tho

OK, so I actually really like the breakdown in the second verse as like a sort of signature for MOMOLAND ,but I can see maybe why people don’t really like it or get sick of it. Their style actually really reminds me of 1920s sound .When I watch shows set in the 1920s, I can kind of hear that type of music in the background . I can see why maybe people won’t like this song, especially international fans but I think it’s super catchy. It sucks that rumours about idols dating can negatively impact the career and personally I hope it changes eventually. I miss daisy and Taeha, so I hope to see them in a music video soon.

I like it. I mean it’s not the best thing I ever heard but it’s catchy and fun and it’s something I could put on when I’m bored and it would put me in a better mood. Dunno it’s just a fun catchy song, nothing serious. The bicina bici na nalina nali na part is addictive tho.

As a member of the international audience, I quite like this song. I wouldn't say it's simple but it's not overly complicated and it's just a fun thing to listen too.

Sounds very swing related, that's how it would relate to outside Korea, I love that sort of sound

I think with this song, Momoland did a really good job sticking with the same vibe as Bboom Bboom and Baam but didn't give us Bboom Bboom part 3. I think that is what people were really worried about. I liked it but I don't know if it has staying power for me. I'll have to give it a few months before I make a final verdict.

It sounds like electro swing, which is neat as that's not really a popular genre

I would say this song is very characteristic of the 1920s era (think Great Gatsby for reference). Heavily inspired.

This is honestly my favorite MOMOLAND title track, the choreo seemed fairly simple, but yeah it has huge Orange Caramel vibes, leans heavily towards electro-swing in terms of genre, which is fantastic...I think MOMOLAND can pull off the fun, quirky concept (similar to Orange Caramel and Crayon Pop) really well.
