I drove 2040 miles from Wisconsin to California to see this live, worth every minute. Even got to meet Ryan Tuerck.

One of the better FD events I've seen this year!

It was good, but a shame so many events were just by runs

It was fine untill the stream went down for almost half an hour during Top 32. After that they resorted to potato quality. Shame really.

Aasbo got screwed over. First run was not his fault and his lead run was very strong. I remember Wang losing a battle he obviously won over Forseberg. Starting to believe this was Forseberg's year to win and everyone else to lose... Conspiracy? I don't know. And a very big congratulations to Matt Field.

Dai really had a pretty good comeback this year considering the past few years being troublesome.

ok I was watching this and thought for once the judges weren't biased... but wtf happened with aasbo? I'm sorry but the contact was caused by Matt. Matt was running sloppy and you can see right before contact happens he threw more angle causing him to slow down. With that aasbo hit him. I got mad respectful Matt, but that wasn't his run and he did not deserve that win.
@siff1237 жыл бұрын
i was tiking the same that was bullshit
@IshoGT7 жыл бұрын
nope. did you even listen to ryan sage before the event and after the contact? the track has various decel and accell zones, meaning zones where you have to be on throttle and zones whrre you can be off throttle or even brake. the contact occured during a decell zone, simple. it was also noticeable that aasbo approached the last inside clipping point way too quickly.
@NoBoost17 жыл бұрын
they both approached that last clip at even speed. Honesty even would say Matt was running abit faster at the start but slowed after the correction and even more when he decided to pull more angle when he should not have. In fd you try and get as close to the lead driver as possible, if you can completely mimic the driver ahead and stay as close too them as possible to get a good follow run. You are saposed to stay close and the fact that aasbo was actually on the brakes more than Matt doesn't help Matt's point. You can see when they are on their brakes and Matt was barely on them at all. aasbo had no time to react to Matt doing that. Matt had not been braking but threw his car into a position where it put the drivers at risk of crashing. Matt got lucky this whole event. He's not a bad driver but 1. this wasn't his best event. and 2. His opponent luckily slipped up allot. If half of these drivers were running 100% that event Matt would have lost.
@Wildchildinc7 жыл бұрын
Its the type of contact that brings the lead driver out of angle or out of drifts, that's what he was docked for. Aasbo really pushed that car out of angle. Had there been contact and a drift was still sustained, Aasbo would've won.
@muffinman_24637 жыл бұрын
pretty sure you're supposed to give the lead driver enough room to adjust if necessary

Over confidence got to Dai... If they checked his car they would've noticed the belt and could have changed it. Shame the grand stands emptied out once Forsberg was announced champion. I swear, those stands were packed not even 20 mins before hand.
