Formula Karting-Race 2 FIGHTING FOR A PODIUM (sen.beg) GP Zwolle

Whoaah dit was zo gaaf. Vechten voor een podium, en zelfs nog voor de leiding!! Ja, kart 11 was dit weekend goed. Maar ik heb ook iemand sochtends gezien in kartje 11 op P13 ofzo, en ik had hem wel op P4 gezet. Ik paste me aan aan de snelheid van de kart en dat ging gewoon super!!
Helaas heb ik een penalty gekregen voor mijn manier van verdedigen. Als ik zag dat degene die mij aan het aanvallen was niet naast me zat, stuurde ik weer wat naar links om mijn hoek te openen. Blijkbaar is dit verboden en ik heb de waarschuwingen van de wedstrijdleiding niet gezien omdat ik zo druk was met vechten voor een podium. Toen ik in aan het vechten was voor de leiding veranderde ik van nog wat lief tijdens het rijden naar heel hongerig voor meer.
Door de penalty heb ik 1 plek verloren, maar de gene die ik verdedigde en waar ik de penalty voor heb gekregen, vertelde me dat het gevaarlijk kan zijn maar dat het wel meeviel. Ook kreeg ik complimenten voor mijn verdedigen dus voor mijn gevoel was dit mijn P3!!!

Whoa this was so epic. Fighting for a podium, and even for the lead!! Yes, kart 11 was good this weekend. But I also saw someone in the morning in kart 11 on P13 or something, and I had put him on P4. I adapted to the speed of the kart and that went just great!!
Unfortunately I got a penalty for my way of defending. When I saw that the guy on P4 was attacking me wasn't sitting next to me, I steered a little to the left again to open my corner. Apparently this is not allowed and I didn't see the race director's warnings because I was so busy fighting for a podium. When I was fighting for the lead I went from being a bit to soft while karting to very hungry for more.
Because of the penalty I lost 1 place, but the one I defended and got the penalty for told me it could be dangerous but it wasn't too bad. I also got compliments for my defense so I felt this was my P3!!!

Nice video, race director here who gave you the penalty... ' I steered a little to the left again to open my corner' It was for multiple times weaving on the straight.. but im sure next time you will be even faster ;) Full gass !!!

Jep. Had ik mazzel mee.. een race later zat ik in 23 en die was toch echt beduidend minder. Je ziet het zelfs op mn snelheidmeter dat dat ding overal tekort komt, en laat ik het niet hebben over hoe dat ding van zn plek af kwam bij de start.. Maarja, vind dat ook wel weer het leuke van huurkarts dat iedereen geluk of pech kan hebben en je je gewoon moet aanpassen..

Mooie race, ik vroeg me of je eigenlijk veel met het gas en de rem zit te spelen of dat de baan vrijwel constant plankgas te nemen? Is vrij lastig te zien op de video

Hey Sander, het is zeker niet allemaal vol gas. Theoretisch gezien kan het wel, maar zal je oversturend de bocht door komen en dat is niet sneller dan even van je gas af. Het is een lang verhaal om hier neer te zetten in welke bocht ik lift en waar niet, maar als je daar echt een idee over wil hebben wat ik doe op welke plekken kan je me het beste een berichtje op instagram sturen!:)

You could have had P1 if it weren’t for those two daft moves at 7:43 and 7:53. You fouled the P1 driver twice and let the P3 through

True man. But you should know this my 4th race of my entire life, and i wasn’t aware of some rules in defending as well, were i got penalised for as well. But this was a good lesson for me in racing!!

@@dzkarting Yeah you’ve got to be significantly alongside going into the corner if you’re going to put it up the inside. 20% isn’t enough. It’s tempting though, especially when the driver behind is ramming you like at 4:00 🙄

@@stu2257 yeah absolutely and you know.. when i came into this raceday i was hoping for P12 in a race since i had litterally 6 weeks karting experience (i started karting in February this year) and i was completely overwhelmed with the fact that i had such a good pace, and i was under a pressure i never felt before. Thats also why i was so heavily defending my P3 wich i made some defending ‘mistakes’ although it werent really mistakes because i thought that u were allowed to change line once like formula cars.. even the guy who gave me the penalty was a little confused that i did not know the rule while i was fighting for a win😅 but yeah, good lessons learned. My next race in formula karting will be in 13 days!:)

@@dzkarting I’m not so sure about that penalty. Obviously excessive weaving isn’t ok anywhere but I don’t see why you can’t change your line on a straight just because someone behind you happens to be on the same line. But the race director knows the rules on his track. Good luck in your next race!
