Dutch people are by far the most down to earth people on this planet, they will express themselves accordingly, and they will say, sometimes harsh what they think of a situation without keeping track on someone elses feelings, straight to the point. Max is very very Dutch...in that matter. When others try to fumicate them in press or whatever, the will come back even stronger, because Dutch are also very stubborn, no nonsense, put your money where your mouth is. I’m a huge Max fan,even before he came onto F1, already following F1 I had heard about his talent. (not just because I’m Dutch) but I’m also a fan of Norris because he was always such a likeable chap in the past. I understand the disappointment that Lando felt and honestly calling Max a bit lucky here is a bit hypocritical when recalling the qualifications a few hours earlier on. Yet calling Lando a spoiled little British baby in itself childish! Besides Lando isn’t purely British, like Max he has a Belgium mother. Also it wasn’t luck on Max’s part but tyre management. Hè didn’t need to come in as his tyres were still holding out. Why is that? Well if you listen to Peter Windsor he will explain it as Max’s driving style, by turning earlier into the corners than the other drivers and putting less pressure onto the tyres.

I'm British and have been an F1 fan (and I mean that in the true sense of the word FANATIC) for over 40 years. I'm passionate about the sport, love seeing British drivers dominate, and hate seeing them treated unfairly (accident or not I've still not forgiven Schumacher for Adelaide '94)... that said I find the seemingly concerted effort by the FIA to assist Lando Norris in deposing Verstappen just embarrassing. I also find the media onslaught equally shameful. Even more so last weekend, not because of Max's epic performance, but because they simultaneously celebrated one of the greatest drivers in F1 history on the anniversary of his tragic death, then circled to criticise a current driver for the very attributes that made Senna the talent be was. The hypocrisy is just laughable, and I've actually started watching the races with my usual TV and 4-tablet timing screen (1-sector times, 2-mini sectors, 3-tyres & age, 4-circuit tracker, as I said... FANATIC) but the volume off as it's painful to listen any more... even to Martin Brindle (who is the only commentator I think comes close to rivalling Murray Walker). The FIA needs a clear out, the British Media needs a wake-up call, and Lando needs to stop listening to Zak brown and grow a pair instead of whining like a baby... because Drive to Survive was making the sport cringe worthy, but it's going WAY beyond that now. I still don't understand WHY Norris and Russel did not receive any penalty on that weird decision to start a lap withou authorisation, breaking ALL rules. On a recent GP, I guess it was Perez who parked the car just a bit ahead of the yellow line and yes, he was penalized with 5 seconds or something like it. On another, Norris accelerated before the others and the lights go out and received NO penalty. "It was the car that 'jumped", not me..." British bias? Well, we've seen this how many times before? Even before Verstappen was born. How many British drivers were so much better than Senna, Prost or Schumacher? Lewis is the only exception to the rule, but others like Russel or Norris are nothing but fast second drivers. Kimi will show it next year. Luck was Norris squeezing in a fast qualifying lap before yet another red flag interruption, while yellow flags behind disrupted others' hot laps when it got going again. Norris dropped the ball again in the race start and failed to make sufficient progress after the red flag mid race. He didn't finish ahead of Leclerc, or Russell, who also pitted before the red flag let alone the Alpines after the restart and finished 31 seconds behind Max. P1 to P6 is a Perez level disappointment.

In my humble opinion the FIA Stewart's need to come from the same country as the drivers, so British, Spanish, French, Mexican, German, etc. Clearly there is no explanation for a $5000 fine in comparison to a 5 seconds time penalty for Lando and a 20 second penalty for Max. Max was very right to ask the question where the British press was. Also Lando's remark about the got lucky completely ignores the red flag in qualifying and the fact booked 17 fastest laps. He certainly has lost my respect after this. This is an international sport and although most of the teams are located in the UK it should be cc ommentated and ruled in an independent way, not on basis of nationality. Verstappen got 5s and a licence penalty for the VSC infringement in the sprint. (yes, that is an extra point on the license for being less than a tenth of a second on the wrong side of the delta) Norris and Russell got nothing but a small fine. This was an infringement that was possibly dangerous since there were marshalls on the track. No license point penalty either. Admitted: the penalty points for Verstappen in Mexico and last year Vegas were deserved, but you can have a real discussion about Austria (where the stewards couldn't even point out a fault, but decided to give a penalty anyway, thanks to our friend Herbert.) and if the point in the sprint last weekend was necessary... If you give penalty points out like that, you should do the same for Norris and Russell for causing a potential dangerous situation. Every time Herbert is involved, these discrepancies happen. I knew upfront that the 2 British guys would get away with it... The race direction when it came to red flags and safety cars was, to say the least, very bad. And also gave the impression of bias.

Fastest laps not lap records. Fastest laps means he was quickest out of 18 cars that were doing their best to stay on the road. Its easy to do a fastest lap when everyone else is just trying to get to the finish

I'm not a huge fan of Max but I will say that his performance at Interlagos was one of the best drives I have seen in nearly 40 years of following F1 .... I am an even lesser fan of the coverage team's relentlessly biased view of the world ( and how hard done by the British drivers ... and viewers... are) .... so here's hoping for an awesome and FIA free end to the season, if Max can hold his lead good on him, if Lando or even Charles can take it too Max, well done them too .... but I am hoping sincerely that it is decided on track with hard but clean(ish) battle

What really spoils F1 for me is the totally biased British press with the exception of Brundle. I sometimes switch to the Portuguese channel which, even though I dont understand the language, I find it less annoying than the English commentary

I still don't understand why they didn't call a red flag when hulkenburg went off in the sprint. The delay in that call was very suspect. Like "we will call it in just a minute once mcclaren gets where they need to be. 😢

FIA (british stewards) should be consistent! FIA needs a big overhaul from top to down! Not ´find a light tap on the fingers for british drivers´ penalty. And not ´give the heaviest fines for non-britisch drivers´ attitude. Or is it typical britisch? behaviour Norris whining Max was lucky and Stella whining the penalty is to severe, its a joke. And both have a memory-blackout about qualification and red flags? And how to demand/show sportmanship...when the british press is nowhere to be seen?

Look at the facts... Max got a bigger penalty for swearing (which was not a violation of the rules at the time, and something Leclerc got a lesser penalty for once it was made clear that it WAS a punishable offonce) than Lando did for what is a serious safety issue and a clear breach of the rules. Mercedes were not punished for what is a clear breach of the rules by tampering with tyre pressure on the car. There were 3 contentious Race Control decisions during the weekend... The VSC during the Sprint Race was not called while Hulkeberg was on foot next to the track but was held off until AFTER the McLarens had switched places, then called almost immediately after. The red flag for Stroll's crash is race Q2 was held off until Lando had completed his lap to escape the elimination zone, but before Max had any chance to do so, some 40 seconds after Stroll had crashed and well after it was clear he was not returning to the pits under his own power. During the race, after Lando and George had pitted the conditions were deteriorating rapidly, but race control waited until after Lando had passed Russell to call out the Safety Car, but only by 15 seconds. Who benefitted from ALL of these instances, Lando Norris and McLaren. Who is one of the small circle of stewards... Tim Mayer, son of McLaren F1 co founder (and the man who took over after Bruce McLaren's death) Teddy Mayer. Maybe it's all a coincidence, but it's a HELL OF A COINCIDENCE.

If Lando was so good, alpine didn’t had a chance. We saw gasly vs Russell and if there were more laps, I think Russell might’ve taken p3. BUT Norris had his chance. Even with the fastest car on the grid, he got p6. If you look closely at the turn where he went off track, you can see that yuki was ahead of him and when he joined back, he was ahead of yuki and he didn’t even gave the position back. I knew he’ll use lame excuses. Even by waiting for red flag to pit, he wouldn’t have stopped verstappen (17 fastest laps in rain). He should’ve received penalty for at least this incident. British bias is too obvious now

Let me be clear; I'm absolutely NOT a Verstappen fan! And the last thing I want to see is him win another WDC. But, I'll never disregard or diminish an outstanding drive from anyone...even Stroll...perhaps...if that were ever actually to happen... There's no other word for it, Verstappen drove incredibly! And he absolutley deserved the win. I think Norris' statement was mostly correct though. Red Bull did get incredibly lucky with the timing of Norris and Russell's pit stop. Or being more realistic, it was Norris and Russell who were unlucky. Either way, had that not happened, then I fully believe Verstappen would have dropped points to Norris. But luck had nothing to do with anything else. Verstappen was only in a position to take P1 at that point in the race because of the outstanding performace he'd put in over every preceeding lap. If I remember correctly, he made up 7 places in the first three corners alone? You dont go from P17 to P1 just because somebody elses pit stop didnt work out for them.

What a dismal bunch at Sky. You should have apllouded Max as this race will be remembered as the measurement of excellence on one of the best ever. Noris is a wanna be, he was punished because he claims a win in the sprint that he never earned. Sky never criticized it, never apologize to Piastri and convince themselves that stealing a win is OK. Sky and it's commentators lost all their credibility in one day. What a shame.

Norris is horrible to keep the pace everytime he starts on pole and this was not exception, he said that in the adrenaline and feeling the pressure that he may lost the opportunity to become champion
