Makes me a bit sad seeing the 01 Cadillac crew all split up this year. Bourdais, Renger, and Dixon were fun to watch and had some good results, including the dramatic Road Atlanta win.

that renger pass with a few minutes to go at the end of petit was stunning to watch, and the drama that unfolded with the lights switching on and off, its memorable.

61 cars on the grid at Daytona is a lot for one circuit, but just imagine how many cars will be on the grid at the 24 Hours of Le Mans!
@dc-sc1vmКүн бұрын
I think le mans has a maximum entry list of 62 cars and the remaining entries go to reserve like what happened to the imsa proton competition porsche 963 along with other car

Yep, 61 entries - that's a lot of rubber on the road. Not as much as the 1983 12 Hours Of Sebring when 87 cars entered and 84 started. And of course, certainly not as much as the 1997 Daytona 24 Hours, which had 96 entries and 80 starters. Also, easily not as much as the 2025 Bathurst 6 Hour, which is expected to have 70 entries and 70 starters. :)

@dc-sc1vm they plan to have more entries in the next years, but now it's limited by the number of boxes available.

@FormulaJonahКүн бұрын
Yep! He will be pulling double duties for Daytona once again this year
@Posirep23 сағат бұрын
Just typical Ben Keating things. Hen usually tries to speed run his drive time in one of his entries and then do a long run in the other later on. I suspect he'll start the race in the 91 and try to get his drive time done there and leave the rest of the race to SVG, Conor and Scotty Mac....while he then goes to the LMP2 car for the remainder of the time.

@@Posirepi consider Indycar and NASCAR inferior to IMSA and WEC in terms of competitiveness. WEC is a true world championship only thing above is F1 (which i quit following in 2009). Indycar and NASCAR are just national series.
@Posirep22 сағат бұрын
@@GeeShocker True but only F1 cars are quicker than an Indy car and Indy are technically the fastest closed circuit cars in the world. Alot of sports car drivers see it as a fall back for not being able to make it in F1 or IndyCar Look at Callum Ilott. He bolted out of the WEC so fast when Prema offered him an IndyCar seat. and you look at someone like Simon Pagenaud who said winning the Indy 500 was the biggest thing he'll ever do even he returned to sports car and won Le Mans...and he's a damn Frenchman.
@GeeShocker21 сағат бұрын
@@Posirep These hirarchies always have a personal note. For me the current Indycar series is on the level of F2 in terms that it's a one chassis series and also gets similar lap times. Which cancels the Indycar is faster than WEC argument for me, and also lowers the value of the Indy500. You might make more money in Indycar than in WEC i guess.
@Posirep21 сағат бұрын
@GeeShocker Its one chassis but its way more open than F2...thats why Penske and Ganassi dominate every year. Suspension, dampers, setups, brakes etc are all open on IndyCars...while in F2 it's just whoever wins the Mechachrome lottery
@gavalant366Күн бұрын
Wow Intereuropol brought back Jon Field. He was like the Fernando Alonso of IMSA for his wild race starts usually going from like 5th to 1st in two laps and he did it in a privateer Lola against the factory backed Audi R10s and Porsche RS Spyders.

@Posirep22 сағат бұрын
@tenkamenincrowder3486 Madison Snow has a good argument for that too. He's usually in the Paul Miller #1 car. He got a little *too* good to be an AM driver so the FIA dropped a gold rating on him and he got pissed off and retired claiming he's not a professional race car driver. That lasted about a year and as of this year he's a BMW factory driver.
@tenkamenincrowder348616 сағат бұрын
@gavalant366 he was a young professional never really amateur driver
@Posirep16 сағат бұрын
@tenkamenincrowder3486 He even said it himself that he was a businessman and not a professional driver. This is why he temporarily retired when the FIA upgraded his driver ranking.
