I am not sure if it is of interest to anybody. But the reason why there are no people is that in Switzerland farmers have and had a three level farming strategy. Due to the steep mountains, there is not enough grassy flat terrain in the valleys to provide food for larger cow hearts. So farmers (cow and milk production) live during wintertime in the valley bottom with all their animals. During may month they take all the cattle and move up to about an altitude of 1500 meters. This is the second station (called Maiensäss). The cows then eat all the grass on that level. In July they move even higher up to an altitude of 2500 meters (called an Alp) and stay there until the end of August, eating up all the grass there. Then they move back to the second level until October, where the grass has regrown over summer time and then with the first snowfall they move back to the valley bottom. This system of cow farming is used since over 3000 years and is a very effective way to maximize the use of the natural resources in a very steep and mountainous region. The village you see is a second level settlement. If I look at the rainfall and the water quantity of the waterfall, it is early spring time in this video. Way too soon for the second level. People and cattle will come there in Mai.

Not to dispute your overall comment, but I don’t see anywhere near the village to graze cattle, unless all the wooded slopes visible on Google Earth were once open. No barns either, or perhaps cattle were never enclosed there.

@@MartinReiter143 Cattle were and are never enclosed on an Alp. They roam free in a heard structure. They never sleep in barns but out in the open. It is a special breed called „Braunvieh“. It is a small breed, with good adaptation on its hooves for steep terrain, resistant to rain and cold. They have pointy horns and can defend themselves. The breed is over 1000 years old. One cow has about the value of 3000 dollars. Often during the summer, some of them get lost or stuck somewhere. So then the farmer calls in his insurance and a rescue team with a helicopters fly out to get the cow, fix it on a harness and fly with it dangling from a long rope to the valley bottom. Many tourists can‘t believe their eyes when seeing our flying cows in summer time. It is quite funny to watch. There are small huts scattered over the mountains, where the headers sleep and where they make and store the cheese. Several farmers put their cattle together and send it with a hearder up to the mountains. This job us called “Senn” or “Alpsenn” and takes about 6 months a year. The rest of the year those men either work in the ski tourist industry or are just doing nothing. They are a special breed of men, used to solitude, fierce nature, independence and hard labour. The free roaming of the cattle is also the reason why Swiss cattle always wear very large bells around their neck. Not all of them but always the leading cow of a heard. This way the Senn can follow the sound when he looks for them. Other animals like goats roam completely free in the mountains and return just in winter time. I spend many summers on an Alp in a remote valley called Val di Blenio and I loved to wait in September, when the goats were returning. They are crazy for salt and we used salt to lure them in.

I'm glad I traveled around Europe when I was in my 20's and healthy. Because as a 69 year old in a wheelchair now, I can't walk anywhere. Both this valley and Verzasca, next to it, have a very distinct character with many intriguing villages to explore - and you don’t need a car because they are served by local bus service. Bicycle is also possible, but the roads are narrow & avoid weekends when there are more cars.
