I saw this band at the age of 16 back in 1986. I can't believe my mom let me go. About 20+ years later, she somehow saw a youtube video of Slayer from that time, and said, "I let you go see THEM!" Yep, you did mom, and it was chaos. Infants/virgins/goats were sacrificed and somehow we all made it back alive, not sure how.

I remember back in 1991 / 92 , Tom said in an article, possibly in Metal Hammer, that in Hell Awaits he would often not actually say words for the faster lyrics and just spout gibberish and no-one would ever notice. Managed to meet him at the '94 and '00 Glasgow Barrowlands gigs, hell of a nice guy. Some ups and downs musically, but they were the formative band of my youth in the 80's and 90's and very directly influenced the culture I would go in to, the friends I would make and the experiences I had. Thanks for the memories guys.
