Such a bitter sweet feeling. My wife and myself have been staycationing on Estero Blvd for over 20 years. We have been all over the world and seen some beautiful things but Ft. Meyers was always “our spot”. I get such deep emotional feelings of happiness and so many great memories come flashing back while watching the same roads and sights I have seen so many times before during this video. I am retired NYPD and I have witnessed many sad and tragic things during that time including being there on 9/11. And without a doubt these were the two times in my life that brought tears to this mans eyes.

My parents were full-time beach residents until Ian took their house and washed everything away. (I actually see a car in this that I think could possibly have been my dad.) Thank God they had the means, mobility, information, and alternative shelter to evacuate before the storm. Not everyone was as privileged. FMB was such a special place. It'll never be the same.

damn, this hits right in the feels. i had to move a little over a year ago, i grew up down there (from when i was 3-28 years old) had so many great memories on that beach. glad to see that its beauty will be preserved in the meantime while the clean up and rebuilding happens and it comes back even better.

Wow! The timing of this video is chilling! Two days before this was reduced to rubble… Seeing all those people out there casually wallking around as if nothing is coing their way, so Florida. When a category 4 hurricane that already devastated Cuba is on the horizon, this area should have been deserted. So sorry for all this loss!

One of my favorite places in the world. I grew up there in the 80s and 90s and have taken countless family vacations there since having kids, most recently in July 2022. So many memories in this video; from skipping school under the pier, to watching a few drunks get dragged from the water by police after prom, and many, many days spent splashing in the Pink Shell pool with my kids. This makes me nostalgic and breaks my heart all at once. I was so mad seeing the new Margaritaville being built at the foot of the bridge because it ruined the panoramic view coming over the bridge and ruined the small town feel of Ft Myers Beach. Now it's practically the only thing left.

Thank you for this video. Fort Myers Beach is one of my most favorite places in the world. We were just there last month and that drive up and over the bridge is my favorite experiences when there. Now I can watch it on this video. Thank you 🤍

Beautiful video. I'll be seeing it myself on Saturday the first so I hope that other than a few palm fronds blown off, it will remain as nice as it has been on my previous visits. The live video from the pier went out just as the storm was peaking so I hope the worst is passed.

It’s beautiful I lived in Fort Myers for about a year and a half from 2017 to 2019 it was beautiful we went here quite often but you’re right on the water so now there’s a hurricane that just came through a couple days ago hurricane Season is nine months out of the year now they just upgraded it why do you want to risk losing everything all the time and dying you live right on the water you’ve gotta expect that you’re going to get it eventually and it’s just not worth it
