HISTORY WITH A VIEW is a collection of dramatic drone footage playing under text describing a historical location or event. In this video I filmed Fort Ontario in Oswego New York while listing key events that took place at the Fort over its 300 year history.

This is one of the most textbook buried star fort structures I have ever seen. It simply makes zero sense that thousands on men with shovels, horses and carts would move millions of pounds of dirt and bury all that. You can see that the wall must go down much deeper than the exposed section in many places because the walls are so low that they wouldn't provide any strategic protection from an invading force. I am very curious what is buried there and is unseen. That place is in desperate need of an archeological dig. Even the large buildings inside there are obviously buried and not in the state they would have been in historically. Crazy, I was born in Oswego and have never seen all this from the air to realize it was like this. Also there was an adjoining military facility that had other structures that housed the medical school, Jewish refugees, Veterans and Army Reserve. They weren't housed in the historical Star Fort.

Thanks for your insight. I'm hoping to get back soon to tour the inside. Yes, it would be interesting to see what lies buried under the ground there.
