Please could you do a first year teacher must have videos. So items you HAVE to have to survive your first year (like a diary) and then suggested items that might be useful but not essential (like own laminator). I know each year you build what you have, but first year feels like a big investment with everything you need for the classroom

Currently I am teaching High School but this video makes me want to go to elementary School so badly. I miss the little ones. 🙁 I have taught upper elementary in the summer for 3 years and did my internship in Grade 2. Elementary comes with its ups and downs but I love the energy and creativity that comes with them.

You could always line with felt if you are afraid things will fall through. However that might make it not look so cute anymore.

Good idea! Maybe once I’m in my classroom I’ll be able to find something perfect to keep in there. Hopefully I can encourage the children to keep them tidy 😅

If you turn one of those gold baskets over so the bottom is on the top then you could store scissors in the holes☺️

Hi Katie, no worries! Yes the videos are great for new teachers and thank you! - If you have any advice on mixed ability seating and how to make it work that would be great:) I have always been told at uni this is best but I’ve never actually seen it used on placement and would like to give it a go! I will be taking my NQT year here in London but I am interested in teaching at an international school in a couple of years time so its been great hearing about your time in Hong Kong :) Abi
