Yup. Rubber melting to the road, lose about 2kg's in sweat, and if you are stopped at a red light for too long you start to feel like how a chicken feels in a rotisserie. Alright, it's not _that_ bad, but it can get a bit warm out on the roads.

A hint. Ask at dealers that sell fridges for the boxes those fridges came in. Go down the 4 corners with your box cutter and voila! You have four long cardboard pads that you can walk your bike onto. That will protect your concrete garage floor, or your dad's driveway from oils change / storage drips, over-spray from chain cleaning, and lubing. Now dad wont't slash your tires.

I don't worry about blocking the mufflers but I always put a plastic bag under the airbox cover to keep vermin out. Re road salt: I commuted on motorcycles for 3 decades, with sidecars for winter. I learned early that you shouldn't use your good bike after they start salting the roads (it costs less to keep a beater than you would spend keeping one bike in good shape) and washing a bike in winter makes it rust faster plus gets water into places where it can freeze and cause problems so I never wash the winter one until after the street sweeper has made its spring rounds.

Olde british method of winterizing a bike is to check the oil and kick the tyres, and ride the bike. We get mild but messy winters. So keeping it clean and greased up is a good thing. Battery discharge in storage is more like 3% per month (0.1% per day) and recommended top-up recharge whilst in storage is every six months, not trickle charge as this uses up the electrolyte and plates. Battery conditioners are something of a solution for where there is no actual problem. Do check and top up the electrolyte, if you don't, that's why you get a dead battery. I cannot remember the last time I had to put a battery on a charger.
@isaackarjala7916

Occasional high voltage (about 14.8-15.5) will help desulfate the plates and make the battery last longer

I find it hard to believe riding the bike in the winter is really better for it than storage. Depends on where you live of course, but in Scandinavia we love to cover our roads in a deep layer of salt and half melted snow. Anything that isn't made of plastic will rust.

So much in depth....I keep it simple -Fuel stabil -Battery tender -keep the tires off the ground on a stand -Lube chain -change oil perhaps when the season starts Also keep in mind he has a dirt bike thats probably been dropped more times than kim kardashians panties. So he can ride in the winter, but if you got a beautiful shiny expensive bike, perhaps its not the greatest idea to take her out in the winter, where the salt etc can get on the chain and the bike. Not to mention you'll need winter gear (or like freezing to death)

Just use ethanol free fuel, stabilizer only makes normal fuel last a month concerning a carb. On every stabilizer bottle they write up to and not defined as. Ethanol free fuel is at least at the pump in maryland and only $1 more a gallon, or you would probably order it in bulk for your shop

Inside the combustion chamber there's already a quite dry atmosphere, if you put the spark plug out and spray this elv's pee in you actually promote corrosion. Better mix a bit (2-cycle) chainsaw oil into the fuel, and take a little ride with the mixture. it doesn't harm even injection motors and leaves a thin film on all the parts inside the motor. Then fill up the tank with stabilized fuel, clean the bike, battery care, (lift bike), DONE! Never had any problems with this procedure!
