Yeah, this microphone is doing better for you. It has a higher (better) signal-to-noise ratio for your whispered speech. The Shure SM7B is a dynamic microphone, which do best with loud sounds and normal speech. A condenser microphone, like a Blue Yeti, has the sensitivity to pick up quiet whispers more clearly.

I’m glad it sounds better! I should’ve done some more research before switching way-back-when 😭 I may switch again to the blue yeti.. the sound was always super consistent with it. I’ll give this one a go for a bit and go from there!

The audio is a lot better now, but still has a bit of background buzzing. I'm still using a yeti for like god knows how long myself. it even got dropped at one point from the table to the ground and the mesh got all squashed up, so I used some tweezers to pull it back up and it still works incredibly well. I've had some driver issues with the new LG hub with it sometimes where windows won't see it correctly but there's a program to fix that when it happens. Tried a few other microphones from friends and honestly, I just really prefer the tone and color of the sound the yeti produces (or records technically).

Hmmm okay maybe I’ll have to pull out the yeti then. That’s crazy hahah their durability is incredible. I used the same one for probs 3+ years and it sounded the exact same from start to finish. Appreciate the feedback! 🤝

I like the Shure better but there is more noise indeed. I personally dont really mind that noise. The Shure sounds more dynamic and crisp. But that is just a personal opinion :)
