PLEASE consider filming some of your "annoying work" for us. I find it very entertaining, relaxing and also inspiring. You are the reason that pushed me to fix my shop doing some work, and sometime I work in my shop with some of your video in the background. You say that it is tedious and there's no point in filming that, but I will say that many of us here are craving for that kind of content, so please consider doing that :) Just turn on the camera and do what you do. We will like it :) It's nice to have you back here :D Greetings from Sicilia, Italy!

well... if storage space for the raw footage is not an issue, then this would indeed be cool! for the sake of "the internet" though, it would probably work best as a high-speed time lapse with some funky music... :) it definitely does help to portray exactly how much work was needed to get it done! but to be fair, we should also keep in mind that this wizard is a genuine one-man show, and editing gets exponentially harder with that kind of footage to work with.. me thinks Alan could use the help from someone with those particular skills. 🤔

FIVE years❔❔❔ I was thinking more like 1-2. LOL I'd be like a little kid in a candy store if I was lucky enough to have a project like that. While Alan's digging more tunnels, bunkers & moving dirt, he needs someone at the fortress finishing up the interior, floors, etc... I'll volunteer!

Alan, you may think just moving dirt is boring and not worthy of a video, but there are successful YT channels based on it. People will definitely watch you doing it especially with old equipment. Some just to see it run, others it’ll bring back memories of running it themselves. At the very least set up a time lapse or speed up a video and condense hours of footage into minutes like Andrew Camarata does. Just get a video out there so you can make some money to help pay for the fortress.

I'm so jealous! I want a huge underground bunker too! I only have ¼ acre. I'm starting to dig a Secret Room (Bunker) under my house. Doing it ONE 5 gallon bucket at a time. LOL Slow going because it's hard packed clay. Might as well be concrete. Hahahaaaa. Will you be able to access your bunker from the Fortress? And were you able to finish your window installation? Wish I could have all your rocks - need them for my landscaping. LOL Looking forward to your next video.

Glad to see you're doing okay. I got an idea for you if you like. I think you should put your camera way up on a pole somewhere up high and just put it on time lapse record. You moving dirt or doing whatever, you don't have to narrate or anything. You can put it up as a short, you could post it as a whole 30 minutes. People are going to watch it regardless, I guarantee. You're the ant in the farm my friend.🐜 I visited my mother in a care home and a number of the other residents where watching KZbin videos of construction sites. No talking, no music, just a window to an active construction site.

Great to see and hear from you Alan. I’d been wondering how you’ve been getting on with the fortress recently, considering I’d not seen any videos drop and all I have seen of you is appearances in heavy Ds channel and videos. No doubt as much as you need and enjoy your job with those guys I keep wondering how your doing, or if you have the time for your own projects. Good to see your progress and hard work paying off, Quick thought though - I know you don’t get rain that often but is it worth digging any channels or drainage - especially around your ramp areas so if you do get any big storms it isn’t going to ruin or wash away all your hard work? All the best mr friend and look forward to the next update

Alan, you do recall that in wintertime sometimes you get rain in Utah? Getting a dirt road pooltable flat and smooth imo is maybe not the best set up for draining runoff water coming down your mountain. Your parking area is perhaps going to turn into a swamp, plus your thousand bucket loads of dirt road is also most likely going to get washed out, first solid rain that comes along. Maybe grading a camber into your road, install some french drains with all of those rocks you've got there, to channel that troublesome water out of where you really don't want it. On that; might it be an idea, to replace some of that vegetation you've stripped off your land? Maybe save the soil from being blown away, dustbowl style. Avoid the nuisance of those dust clouds being raised, everytime a wind gets up.
