Fortunately is used to say that something is good or we are happy because of something.
e.g. Fortunately, I've got a credit card with me and can pay now.
Fortunately, my office is situated near my home. So, I'm never
late.
Unfortunately is used to say that something is sad, disappointing, or has a bad effect.
e.g. Unfortunately, I got ill and stayed in bed.
Unfortunately, I don't have enough time to talk.

Unfortunately you were not one of my HS Teachers. Good Explaination process. Fortunately in HS I was just starting to notice the beauty in females so I would have been ok with just thinking of the two words. Unfortunately and Fortunately as it is a razors edge. My Minds Eye has been allowed to be opened. Now I am not sure the outcome. A tug of war between your Beauty and Fasinating Mind for my attention. Great Lesson I will check out more of your work. I see so many people use it backwards. They use fortunately for things that are bad. Instead of good. So many of them seem like they should know how to use it. Its like your and you're many know how to use those. Theres one word people say wrong too. Can't think of it thougj. I use to all the time. The. Rraljzed it's wrong. Then noticed a lot of people do to. That's cause of culture, tv or something. There's always reasons why we do what we do or say what we say Like they day, monkey see monkey do. Maybe I'm thinking of alright, but many say arright.
